In an "austerity" budget environment of low taxes and low spending, the very rich few get a lot richer; everybody else become much poorer.

I love the sentences, the very rich few get a lot richer; everybody else become much poorer. Watch, your Marxism is showing. that is classic Marxism, rich, poor, rich, poor.
One can go into the poor neighbourhoods of different American cities and see why people by the millions have emigrated to the states, some even by boat and a lot of boat people have died trying to get here. Why? Because even overseas they know the poor walk around with cellphones, government given and have plenty to eat. Those who have made it here tell their loved ones back in the hellholes they came from, come to America, the poor here eat steak. The poor live in nice places and drive cars. Only in America where according to the great Historian the very rich few get a lot richer; everybody else become much poorer.

The word is out worldwide, go to America, even the poor have cellphones, government provided and plenty of food.
There are and have been beaucoup who have went to the states, some even as boat people and some boaters have lost their lives trying to get to America. The poor in America live in nice homes, at least at first, have tvs, cell phones, steak if wanted, cars, wide screens, all sorts of luxury items.
The closest thing to poor here, the real poor in the third world countries, is Detroit at the present. And even there the poor eat mighty well.
come on up Amigos and Amigas, you can eat at McDonalds up here. Make beaucoup money. What's Spanish for beaucoup? Is it mucho?
I noticed Historian you include the Irish example in your post. Ireland is far from being poor.

That George Bush got blamed for the 08 crash and rightfully so because it was on his watch. Thing is Obama kept the same Goldman Sachs crew in and continued the same policy with the bailout's and the free money to Wall Street.

This crash will have Obama's name all over it and it will be a game changer in the 2016 election. The Republicans will sweep the House and the senate and probably get a republican in the white house. They would love to bust the economy out under Obama, him and the Dems get the blame and they can say I told ya so!

All countries on earth have poverty. why is poverty in Ireland cited?
As a whole there are a whole lot more impoverished nations in the world than Ireland, both in numbers and scope.

Ireland (and Greece) are cited because they are examples of what the kind of "cut taxes (on the rich) cut spending (that benefits everyone else)" austerity advocated by the Tea Party can and will do to a First World nation.

so you know a lot about Ireland and its politics and economy, do ya now!
Ireland and Greece are cited because of what kind of cut taxes on the rich, cut spending, same advocated by the American Tea Party. You cast your blarney on the folks on these topix who never go to Ireland topix and will believe you but I can safely say I know a whole lot more about Irish economy and politics than you because I actually get on Ireland topix along with UK and various European topix and I actually know what is happening in Ireland.
Believe me what is posted in post 33 is not true.
Here is a hot news item for those who don't know. The Irish and Greek communist party both are heavy in Greek and Irish politics and political landscape. being communist doctrine is not for the bourgeoisie but the proletariat, I doubt very seriously Dublin and Athens are taking from the poor, Proles, and giving to the rich, bourgeoisie. But believe mr Historian if you so choose. I don't really care if you believe lies over my truth.

You wouldn't know what "Communism" was if it bit your stupid hillbilly ass off, but you are sort of right in some of this.
What we have shaping up is not "communism" or "socialism". It is a sort of anarcho-capitalist plutocracy: a situation where an extremely wealthy few have almost all of the wealth and the vast majority have nothing. The closest thing to it in modern times was the peonage system in Mexico in the 19th century. Something similar happened in tsarist Russia. There it led to the people becoming serfs owned by the aristocrats. Same thing happened in ancient Rome.
The only workable mechanism to prevent that sort of accumulation of wealth and some sort of impoverished serfdom for the vast majority is to levy high taxes on the wealthy and redistribute the wealth through government spending on public works and infrastructure, education, health care, etc. for the masses. That redistribution creates jobs - after all the infrastructure has to be built and maintained, the schools taught, etc.
But if you go to "austerity" meaning "cut taxes (on the wealthy) and cut spending (for the masses)" then you get a situation like what is happening now in Greece and Ireland.

Yes indeed, it is definitely A MARXIST!
What the crap does being somewhere or not have to do with knowing what is going on there! The majority born in America don't have the faintest idea what's going on there.
I've been in the Philippines but that ain't the reason I know what the crap is going there but I keep up over here what is going on over there.
Thank for the opportunity to educate those who really want to know what is going on by me telling the truth.
I am going to leave in a few minutes to go to a tent meeting of those evil ones to you called CHRISTIANS! But I look forward to using you tomorrow to educate some more who really want to know the truth.
You have your MARXIST rest of the day and night and this American Constitutionalist is looking forward to your MARXIST bs tomorrow.
Your MARXISM has been here longer than 1945.

The great social programs of the last century and the big push for socialism were right after the great depression of 29. They were trying to sort out and stop the damage done by an unchecked Wall Street. The 1% then almost destroyed the country and the untold misery and want they caused were a crime against humanity.
All the old Roosevelt safeguards to prevent the speculators and Wall Street crooks from destroying the country again have been done away with. The regulations and acts that separated Wall street from the home town commercial banks were taken away in the late 90,s and then we started having the bubbles burst. The 08 crash could not have happened if the Roosevelt acts were not bought out by Wall Street, it took them over 60 years to destroy them and as soon as they did the market crashed. There is nothing different now than in 08, nothing meaningful has been passed to regulate Wall Street and keep them at bay. It seemed socialism was OK when we were bailing out Wall Street now the Tea Party thinks it's a dirty word. Simply put Health Care should have never been made for profit and is a minimum responsibility of the government as is old age pension. A society that does not take care of it's sick and old is a heartless subhuman s@*thole. What good is a government that provides health care for the top 10% and lets them control 60% of the nations wealth but does nothing for the working and middle class. To big to fail just got 5 times larger since 08, the big in name only Wall Street banks are sitting on trillions, speculating on every thing from oil to war. Some of you bastards that are crying about a little socialism will be begging for it when you have not had anything to eat for 3 or 4 days. Another Roosevelt may not be around next time but another Adolf Hitler might.

Your are on the right track, but are making one big mistake. The New Deal reforms were not a "push to socialism." They were a system of safeguards intended to protect capitalism from its own built in self destructive tendencies.

Social Security was just for old age pension in it's original form, the SSI and other programs that are busting it were added on later. They never should have put the surplus in the
federal Reserve system either, it should have been left in Treasury in an SS account. Even at the lousy 2% interest rate the system would have been solvent for another 100 years "if" they had locked it up without government being able to draw from it unless is was a declared war. They put 2.2 trillion and every agency has been drawing the money out and throwing an IOU back in the box.
The republicans try to say that Social Security is adding to the deficit, Social Security is off budget and paid for by the workers and employers that pay into it, has nothing to do with the national budget or debt. What they are crying about is the government having to put the 2.2 trillion surplus back in, pay social security back but they still holler SS is a big part of the debt.
Medicare was added later and then prescription drugs to medicare, but the pharmaceutical lobby made sure the government had to pay retail for the drugs and not be able to bid on them. Not enough was ever done to combat medicare fraud which amounts to about 40% of the overall cost including administration.
All a drop in the bucket compared to the government giving Wall Street corporate welfare, bailout and the 3.2 trillion dollar .00003% loan, it took 3 years after the 08 crash to get that info from the Fed. Wall Street over the last several years has taken more money from taxpayers than Social Security, Medicare and the Food Stamp Program. They have a guaranteed source of money, the American taxpayer that backs the Fed through the IRS.
It's a shell the average Working Class were set up to lose since 1913!
It will crash, set up to do so every 60-70 years or so, they get to start fresh with a clean slate after they cherry pick and buy up the best assets in the country for pennies on the dollar.
