I can only speak from my expeirience. Of coarse this was in 2001. My mother was there for a short while and they treated her like a baby.

the best in this area. staff is great in all areas. I have a family member there and let me tell you it has improved so much in the last couple moths. The christmas dinner night for the families was unremarable, everything was great and looked unbelievable. I thought the food was cater in, but later found out that the Dietary manager and her staff had prepared it right there at the nursing home. UNBELEIVABLE. It was wonderful, all the people that live ther received all types of wondrful gifts.

It's a very good one, best anywhere in the area, if you are considering this a place for a family member, this is the one i'd go with. Don't even consider signature in pikeville. If you walk in to both place it's a HUGE difference, the residents at signature always seem so sad, they just sit around or lay in there rooms all day. At parkview the residents are actually up during the day, participating in activities, the mood around there is always so positive, the workers there actually care about these residents.

my mother is there and I couln't ask for any better treatment for her, she seems happy with the staff, they make her feel special. every time i visit she is so pleased with everything, and always talks about the good food and good service.

. I have had experience in all of the area nursing homes. Unless Parkview has improved it is a nightmare. understaffed, management problems etc. The list could go on and on.
Maybe it is improving. I must say patients get better care at Signature. Christmas dinners are nice for families. However, it is the patient that matters not the family dinner.

i totally agree the resident always comes first, but with parkview they encourage families to alos get involved, and that also shows what kind of treatment that the family member gets throughout the year, unlike signature. i guess why people checks their family member out of signature and brings them to parkview, they know that they will get great treatment, and what's cooking in the kitchen...

I worked at Parkview for only a few months about a yr ago. I thought it was the worst nursing home I have ever worked at. The were only 3 aides to care for a entire floor...residents were not bathed properly nor turned. Workers were lazy and the equpiment, beds, etc were dated and dirty. The place has not been updated since it was opened. I would never put my family member in that place.

LOL I worked there because I moved to Pikeville. I have been a CNA for years and I have worked other places that were 100x better. I had a family member who worked at Parkview about 15yrs ago and the place has never been updated. They had 3 cna's to one floor during the day. Thats impossible to give good care to that many people, trust me I am not a bad worker I worked as hard as I could and I still felt awful when I went home after a shift because of poor staffing and lazy workers. Some of the employees would not show up for work and if they did they usually were 2 and 3 hrs late. I can go on and on. I hope the place has gotten better for the residents sake.
