My favorite was Autumn also...Helena played the banjo...she is from N. Carolina...the one that is rude with her friends I would not support their music even if they become a star....to me being rude is like being a bully....a few country singers become rude after fame...One from Pike County had a Concert years back and was very rude to the fans...Hillbilly Days is in April...usually the 3rd week I believe...Put on by the shriner's....Lots of food....music....dancing...cra fts....parade...etc

Two of the judges were from Pikeville; Marty Childers, formerly of the MAC and Laura Ruth Ford Hall. There was filming done in Pikeville for this show. As far as the actual singing contest; I don't know where that took place. I didn't recognize the stage; but that doesn't mean it wasn't filmed here.

it was filmed here, but the show sucked. It is more about the girls and there crazy moms than a singing contest. It just down right sucked unless u are a 15 yo titty bopper.

or dance moms...money talks...If that one is as rude in real life as she is on the show I don't think I would be on a TV s bragging about it...what some will do for money but then that is what TV is all about anymore

I watched it the show was ok, I'll watch it again just cause it was suppose to feature some of the locals. The girl from west va. did good I think. Savvanah from Pikeville was ok but I thought her personality killed it for her and her mother. The Presley girls mother seems like shes more into it then her daughter and has a really bad way of pushing her child forward, along with savannahs mom she was rude too.
what do you do

well some of those girls are soooo ugly on the inside - don't they reaize that their image on this show will likely haunt them for the rest of their lives. If i was hirig for a position, I would not consider ms. little for her snobby rude attitude.

in 10 yrs. she will be fat an ugly just like her mom.

i think its going to show transformations.
the cocky ones who think they are the best singer, will find out that she is one of five hundred more just like her, chasing a dream.
do you know how many thousands try to make it in the music business and out of those you might get 10 really good singers, who go on to have big careers.
then you have the ones who hit it lucky.
like miranda lambert, not a great singer, if you put her in front of a mic alone, she isnt a very good singer.
but she can shake her t and a and put on a good show.
and she married big.
dosent matter but

Savannah goes to Pikeville high school. so no it wasnt staged. That Lauren girl recently did move here, not sure what school she goes to. But I do remember a singing contest going on at Hillbilly Days, so it wasnt staged. Anyway, you have to have it ALL going on if you want to make your dreams come true. Not just a pretty face and alright voice. You have to have a great personality too. Perfect exapmle was Autumn Jones. I really do think this girl will make it big one day. Helena was awesome too, down to earth and perfect personality. you cant be a snob and show off your money to make it. it just wont happen. I bet Savannahs mom paid to have her on that show instead of getting paid for doing it. lol she needs a reality check, both mom and her. Shes not that good, I know a girl out of Elkhorn City who can out sing her any day of the year. They need to switch them out. and out her in Savannahs place for sure. that Lauren sucks, i watched her youtube videos and you can tell by her lips that they have bandaged her voice up real good. haha no one wants to sign someone who has to be fixed up. Check it out on youtube.

Also, I know a girl from the Breaks named Lauren who can sing so beautifully. She is awesome and I would love nothing more than to see her and the Kaitlynn girl i know make it big in the music industry. Over these snobby snob snobs whos had it all and thinks they are above everyone else.

The singing contest happens every year at Hillbilly Days. However, all of these girls on the show and their families knew the "surprise producer" was going to be there! lol So in that respect, I guess you can say the contest was "staged", along with pretty much every scene they shot. I have personally known three of these girls since they were very little, and their families as well. Savannah was definitely amping it up for the cameras, but she and her mother are that harsh and mean in everyday life too. Celeste and Tyra are far from being her "posse"! Tyra is one of the sweetest girls you could ever meet, as well as her mom. I'm not sure about Celeste but her mom and her family are just as crazy as Savannah's mom, they just hide it better.
As far as the talent goes...well, money can only get you so far. In my opinion these people have sold their souls to the devil and any "fame" they receive from this will have nothing to do with any God given talent they possess. I do believe Autumn Blair and Helena Hunt seem to be the real deal. I didn't see much air time from Julia Knight but I was impressed with what I saw.
If you enjoy drama, stay tuned. I understand the eastern Kentucky trio will be exploding in the next few episodes and jealousy will rear its ugly head. Big shocker coming from these people, huh?

I agree with you, Historian. Autumn Blair, Helena Hunt, and Julia Knight were the talented ones.

Remember these girls are all young. Savannah albeit spoiled is only 14. However fame can go to anyone's head and my guess is she may only get worse with time unless somehow she can see how self-centered and bratty she is on television. Autumn Blair, Julia Knight, and Helena Hunt are extremely talented. But Julia seems like the one with the most unique voice and talent. Really not sure why Lifetime is not following her around or giving her more airtime. I wouldn't doubt if Julia wanted minimal time on this 'reality' show except to hear her sing. Reality shows can really help and hinder a person's reputation.

It's my understanding that the show has been cancelled due to poor ratings. I think some of the episodes are available on iTunes for purchase.
