Makes me sick to hear PMC commercials on the radio and TV. A complete waste of time. Everyone knows that place is a poor excuse for a hospital. Their ambulance service went belly up. Their helicopter service went belly up. All of the big specialists that came in are either gone or are leaving. They are running all of the local doctors out of town. The place needs to be totally investigated from the bottom to the top.

can you define "belly up"? you obviously have no idea what you are even talking about. I work in the medical field. I have no ties to PMC, but it is a good establishment. You sound ignorant and I'm sure you have no clue what is going on, just want to be judgemental. You've probably had to pay a bill or two there before. Get over yourself. People who have no idea about something should not be aloud to comment on it.

What is PMC going to do when all their good DRs are gone? I took my mother-in-law to the DR last week & found out that DR Smith is leaving soon... PMC doesn't have too many good DRs IMO and the few that are worth seeing are leaving. I dunno why this DR is leaving or where he is going, but he'll be missed :(

PMC lost one brilliant neurosurgeon when the sent Dr. Damien Jensen back to Australia. He was a wonderful doctor and had a great bedside manner. He was replace by Dr. Duane Denzler, who I'm sure is a good doctor, but in no way could he compare to Dr. Jensen in my book. I had to see Dr. Denzler once Dr. Jensen was gone and Denzler referred me to another doctor since, the only thing I can think of, he had more important patients or things to attend to. I dunno.
He didn't intend on staying here too long anyway; just long enough to collect a bundle of $$ and move back to Australia. The encounter that I had with him in the ER showed him to have very poor bedside manner and lack of self control, so I guess we have different experiences. His concern that night was making sure that he got his share of the money that my father's illness would generate. I found his behavior reprehensible.

Dear I Agree,
Are you sure you knew Dr. Jensen. That man was far from a wonderful doctor. At least in my opinion. I am glad he hauled tail back to Australia.

Jensen couldn't get licensed to operate on heads when he came to the states as he had reduced the number he did to reduce his liability. Thus, he could only do a fraction of what PMC hired him to do.

Dr. Smith was a good DR... he's going to be missed. My aunt use to see him & she loved him! Always spoke of how friendly & caring he was. Also my friend is married to Dr. Smith's older brother... it's true, he did go to Johnson City & it's my understanding that he likes it there very much!

From what I hear about him, I wouldn't trust him judging by his conduct with nurses at that place. Shouldn't he have his mind on his work?

Yeah, and they can still afford to light that "circus tacky" ass place up in early Novemeber. I drive by there and am embarrassed for them.

If town officials are so "green- minded" these days, why are they leaving Christmas lights on during the day and night? Same goes for the hospital leaving all that sh*t on constantly and 2 months early at that. I mean...wouldn't a few lights here and there suffice?

He is practicing in Lexington and the patients love him. He still sees a lot of the ones he had in pikeville but has already become very sought after in Lexington. He said Walter wanted him to sign a contract that he would be one of his employees and he had already established his own business and didn't want to have to take orders from Walter. Polly every other commercial on radio is about PMC because guess who owns the radio stations, if you guessed Walter you would be right. He is just transferring money to himself. It's all legal but there's no way he could keep that many stations running in today's economy if he didn't have PMC. I would bet they spend over a million dollars a year on his stations. See if you hear them on any other radio stations. Steve gives his old patients priority if you make an appt with him in Lexington. I believe he said Dr. Hall got his patients in Pikeville that didn't want to come to Lex to see him.
hope not

I guess if the hospital owns all these doctor's practices then the hospital pretty much has control over how the practice is run.
