What is the origin of the teaching of hellfire?
In ancient Babylonian and Assyrian beliefs the “nether world . . . is pictured as a place full of horrors, and is presided over by gods and demons of great strength and fierceness.” (The Religion of Babylonia and Assyria, Boston, 1898, Morris Jastrow, Jr., p. 581) Early evidence of the fiery aspect of Christendom’s hell is found in the religion of ancient Egypt.(The Book of the Dead, New Hyde Park, N.Y., 1960, with introduction by E. A. Wallis Budge, pp. 144, 149, 151, 153, 161) Buddhism, which dates back to the 6th century B.C.E., in time came to feature both hot and cold hells.(The Encyclopedia Americana, 1977, Vol. 14, p. 68) Depictions of hell portrayed in Catholic churches in Italy have been traced to Etruscan roots.—La civiltà etrusca (Milan, 1979), Werner Keller, p. 389.

But the real roots of this God-dishonoring doctrine go much deeper. The fiendish concepts associated with a hell of torment slander God and originate with the chief slanderer of God (the Devil, which name means “Slanderer”), the one whom Jesus Christ called “the father of the lie.”—John 8:44.

My favorite lie of the Republicans and the conservative media is how Obama's race has nothing to do with their hatred of the President. Sure, to cover that lie they lie even more calling Obama a radical socialist. Funny thing though, in reality corporate profits are higher under Obama than any other president in our history

With Republicans, it's actually hard to tell if they're lying or if they just don't know any better.

I do hope the President in his next public appearance, gives a detailed dollar amount of exactly how much tax money was spent (wasted) on these House reps and Sen. Ted Cruz showboating.
They know the time they spent and the staff that was paid. They know this will not pass but they wasted OUR tax money anyway.

Look at the amount of tax money it will cost just for Cruz to put on his planned performance.
They should have to pay the taxpayer back out of their own pockets.

This is ridiculous wasteful spending and its right out in the open. I thought we were soooooooooo in debt Republicans?

People do not like being lied to, and that is one of the huge reasons people are leaving the Republican Party. Time after time, the Party faithful are told the Republicans are the conservative party and will push a conservative agenda. When these Republican leaders get to Washington, they do just the opposite of what they promised. Marco Rubio, John McCain and Kelly Ayotte are some of the most recent examples. All campaigned in their last election against amnesty for illegal immigrants and now have turned around and voted for amnesty.

Either the GOP changes now or we can start planning the funeral for the Republican Party. Those in the Republican establishment who do not believe that is possible should remember, there is an open plot in the political graveyard.

And it’s located right next to the Whig Party.

Then you are an Idiot as those people would have been payed the same no matter what they worked on... It cost the exact same amount if they had not done what their constituency told them to do.... And it's what they were Elected to do... Those in question were Elected to stop, using any method they can come up with to stop a system that will not work as stated.... And make every aspect of your life at the Complete Control of the Government... Every thing you do, every thing you eat, the kind of car you drive and every aspect of your life under direct control of the federal government...

Angry Christians protest Pakistan church bombing; death toll rises to 81

By Fakhar ur Rehman and Henry Austin

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan -- Angry Christians blocked roads on Monday in protest at Sunday’s suicide bomb attack on a church that killed 81 people in what is thought to be Pakistan's deadliest attack on members of the faith.

Carrying batons and sticks and barricading roads with burning tires, demonstrators demanded better government protection for Christians who make up about four percent of Pakistan's population of 180 million.

Hundreds of Christians took to the streets across Pakistan to protest the deadly bombing at an Anglican church in Peshawar that killed dozens of people.

They brought a number of major arteries to a halt in cities including roads in the Islamic nation’s capital, Islamabad, and in Karachi where protests turned violent and police were forced to launch a baton charge.

*****"Terrorists have spared no mosque, church or temple in the country from attacks"****** on protester, Adil Kayani, 19, told NBC News, as he blocked a road in Islamabad.

"They released a leader two days ago,” he added, referring to the release of the Afghan *Taliban’s* former second-in-command Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar on Saturday.“And the next day Church was attacked. Why we are targeted? What is our crime? The government must ensure protection to us."....

Eh, there's no real difference between a R bureaucrat and a D bureaucrat. Either one would burn a billion bucks just to blame it on the other.

Just following orders from the commander in chief if all armed forces.
Obama put the focus back on the person who attacked us on 9/11. Bush lost focus, and diverted to Iraq.
Maybe you don't care that bush let him get away with murder, but I do.
And thanks for again showing your love for republicans.
I know republicans cannot give Obama credit for anything positive.
