Why do so many Americans think they are owed something? Why should I pay for someone else's health insurance? I pay for mine...I take care of myself. I worked hard getting an education(without financial aid or student loans), found a great job while I was still in school, bought my own home, pay all my own bills, and did all of this without a dime from the government. I made responsible choices, yet 35% of my income is taken from me and given to the irresponsible. Why am I working to feed other peoples' children when I chose to wait until I am married to have my own? Why are people who have no way to support a child breeding anyways...and being rewarded for it?! Why do women continually sleep with losers and then act amazed when they turn out to be "deadbeat dads"? If a man does not have a good education, a very good job, his own place to live and a car I wouldn't even go on a date with him,
much less sleep with him! I guess if you are like most of the "single mothers" in this country you cannot get a man like that so they have to settle for the losers. It would never occur to them to wait to have children until they are married. Why get married when the government forces those of us who actually do pay taxes to support you? We are tired of it!! We are sick of taking care of everyone when every year it seems to get worse!! Get an education, get a job, get married and then have children. Your children....and us taxpayers...are the ones paying for your mistakes.

This shutdown is more of the same-old-same-old which we have been seeing for the last six years ..... the Republican Party in Washington attempting to deliberately sabotage and undermine our own Government in an attempt to make the Democrat Party look bad. They don't care in the least that these tactics are hurting the people of America. They did it with recovery from the recession and they are still doing it.
Last Monday Republican US Representative King (yes, a Republican) stated the problem is that tea party conservatives are driving the Republican agenda in the House .....
"We have people in the conference, I believe, who'd be just as happy to have the government shut down. They live in these narrow echo chambers. They listen to themselves and their tea party friends. That keeps them going, forgetting that the rest of the country thinks we're crazy."
I'm not the only one who feels this way about how the 'new' Republican Party is behaving. The Party has been taken over by teabaggers, extremists, religious-fanatics, and hacks catering to the ultra-rich. This week some of the moderate Republicans expressed frustration with the tactics of other Republican congressional leaders.
An example is how former Republican Senator Snowe made the statement that the Republican tactics are hurting the party and America .....
"This isn't a party that I recognize and the party I joined when I first enrolled, and that's regrettable."
In sizing up the situation Democrat Senator Reid said it best .....
"They are fixated on embarrassing our president, the president of the United States."
The Republican Party also made their intent very clear about intentionally sabotaging recovery from the recession and now causing a government shutdown in this statement said by Kentucky’s Republican Senator Mitch McConnell (Senate Minority Leader) when President Obama was elected to his first term in office .....
"For the next two years, we can’t let you (Obama/Biden) succeed in anything. That’s our ticket to coming back."
Yep, that incriminating statement about purposely messing up the recovery and keeping people out of work was made by our very own good-old-boy Mitch McConnell.
A huge problem is the Republicans in Congress are acting like spoiled obnoxious brats because they didn't get their way on the Healthcare Act. Today I watched a bit of the congressional meeting concerning the shutdown. Rather than talk about the shutdown and budget all the Republican leaders did was rant about 'Obamacare'.
Even in this some of the Republican Party's own members are showing their annoyance at the Party's conduct. Senator John McCain (remember him? He was the Republican presidential nominee in the 2008 election) said that any attempt to repeal Obamacare would fail because of Obama's veto, which would require a two-thirds majority in the Senate to overcome.
Not a good thing to shut down the US Government and hurt working families only in another attempt to attack the healthcare law by wanting anti-healthcare amendments attached to the budget. None of the things they have been doing in the last six years has been good ..... especially not good for America.
The Democratic Party needed no help whatsoever in making themselves "look bad". Obamacare will probably fail, and most people believe that. The Repubs could've easily taken that stance and just let it go to unravel on it's own. Do you REALLY think that Obama and his cronies would take the blame for ANY failure???? They would probably blame it on Bush, and Obama's brainwashed followers would believe it. Instead, the Repubs chose to push to try to avoid a terrible situation in the BEST interest of the American people.

Highly doubtful in the long run. ObamaCare is truly it's very own worst enemy and time is going to drive that reality home until it hurts. I am now going to relax on my laurels and watch the swath of utter destruction ObamaCare yields and all the while say " I/we told you so!" until the proverbial cows come home, LOL!

I guess that's why Republicans are fighting so hard to repeal and defund it. If they thought it would fail they would just let Obama own it. They know it will be a success and we all know they cant stand it. Cry baby losers!

Can't you people see that Obama and all of his huntsmen are trying to take over the civilized nations, because of our white ancestors' actions and disgraceful doings. We cannot help what our Fathers before us did, but we can all stick together together and make sure that we do not end up under the rule of some third world King that wears a turban. I am afraid that we are getting paid back for what the White men did to the American Indians. I might not have much intelligence, but I believe we are being held accountable for our forefathers misgivings.

Oddly, it is far too easy to allow large corporations and the ultra-rich to convince people who don't have much to give more to them. When those type people and corporations are permitted to control our government ..... well, you can see the danger in that, what type abuses can result. Throughout history that is what left the door open to varied levels of feudal systems. Present dangers are they for personal profit seek less changes such as reductions in worker safety laws, reductions in or doing away with environmental protections, doing away with worker arbitration, abolishing minimum wage, doing away with important controls regulating things like Wall Street (you cannot turn large corporations loose or small businesses are gone forever, or allow things such as inside trading), and more.

Our forefathers saw and knew the danger of what I'm speaking of. It happened even back then. British rule wasn't the only element they had to fight. After we gained our nation there was another threat from within.

“I hope we shall crush in its birth the aristocracy of our moneyed corporations, which dare already to challenge our government to a trial of strength and bid defiance to the laws of our country.”
-- Thomas Jefferson, the principal author of the Declaration of Independence (1776) and the third President of the United States

They saw it would be a continuing danger. They (our founders) gave us warning. I think it's prevalent particularly now within a large element of the Republican Party.

“The end of democracy and the defeat of the American revolution will occur when government falls into the hands of the lending institutions and moneyed incorporations.”
-- James Madison, our fourth President, also known as the 'Father of the Constitution' for being instrumental in the drafting of the United States Constitution and as the primary author of the United States Bill of Rights

“There is an evil which ought to be guarded against in the indefinite accumulation of property from the capacity of holding it in perpetuity by…corporations. The power of all corporations ought to be limited in this respect. The growing wealth acquired by them never fails to be a source of abuses.”
-- James Madison

The serious danger right now is that they are finding it easier to obtain these goals. The tea party and far too many Republican Party supporters are playing right into their hands.

One problem is all they have to do is say certain words and some people lose all common sense and will allow anything, allow any abuse. Words such as Liberal, God, Patriot, Gay, Socialism (in the 1950's the word was Commie), and right now at this moment alone with those words it's the word Obamacare. At the use of any of those words tea party followers and too many Republican supporters will stop looking at anything factual and will instantly support the person who used the word.
