Put life jackets on children. They are a great investment. Never Never have a child near water without one. Especially at a party. A life guard needs to ALWAYS be at a party with children. It's worth your dime!!

Your not much of a "neighbor" to get on here and talk about them. If you were "Really" there you would KNOW the facts and I don't think getting on here running people down is a very neighborly thing to do.

it just honestly makes me angry please. I debated on even typing what I did but I can't help feeling this way. I see it everyday and I agree with neighbor. I was thinking the same thing. was the lack of attention so bad that it took a while for someone to even notice? I can't help but think the same thing. I honestly do care. it bothers me and it makes me angry because I see people everyday that let their kids or a child under their care wander around alone where they shouldn't be, play in junk heaps with metal jutting out of the ground, wondering around swimming pools. walking alone in stores while they're mentally a million miles away shopping. not holding a small child's hand while they are walking in the parking lot while they're distraced on a goddamn cell phone. playing in or near the street and people never learn.
I wouldn't defend myself to them you have every right to post your opinions how you feel. A child is gone and I'm praying for the families involved. But for heaven's sake this is news and we are allowed to discuss this and have opinions someone needs to bring it to attention and if our message reaches one parent to make them more aware it's worth the backlash. People if you don't want others to share their opinions don't make the news.

It's just an awful tragedy. He was only seven. When I found out, I had thought that it was one of the kids invited to the gathering. Then, to find out that it was his home. If he was there with other kids in the pool, how did they not see him struggling? If he was alone, why did he not know how to swim? I will not say that I'm a better parent because there are stupid things that I've done, and learned from. But, I would never install a pool without my children knowing how to swim first, and understanding how dangerous one is.
I could never imagine the pain that they must feel. My heart goes out to everyone who knew him, especially his mother and father.

yes because as we all know the local police, most of whom are no more than high school graduates, are all coroners and can tell how someone died and how long they have been dead just by looking at them. how stupid!!!

Oh and by the way, if you were there, arent you responsible as well for this childs death?
I mean, if you were an adult there, you should have been watching, right?
What were you doing for 15 minutes while he was dead in the pool????

sounds like you keep changing your story and you are probably a busy body jealous neighbor who wasnt invited.
Why not just leave these people to grieve the loss of their child and the rest to God!!!

you're a dumb ass highway, didd the person ever say they were there?I think said they lived nearby and you also said "Nobody ever considers something like this can happen." well I feel sorry for your kids or grand kids if you have. you must be careless or stupid if you think nobody ever considers kids can drown at a pool party or around a pool. careful responsible people do consider and prevent children from drowning by being poolside watching them.

You sound like a teenager yourself I mean come on a jealous neighbor who wasn't invited really. What makes you think they even wanted to come? Maybe they should have attended its obvious more eyes were needed.

Say whatever you want, this person changed their story, they were there, they live three houses down, so, umm, NO they werent technically there.
Stop saying you know what happened, because you werent there, unless she was watching from her 3rd house down, in which case, she should be responsible for the childs death if she could see him from that distance.
I am the one calling bullshit.
