I live in eastern Ky and am currently working on my prerequisites to get into pharmacy school. I think the price is rediculus. The pharmacy school in grundy virginia is only a 3 year program and 30,000 dollars less for the same degree. Please check into the price. It would change my mind if it would be cheaper for me to attend.

The pharmacy school in Grundy is also an accelerated program (3 straight years, rather than 4 years/ 8 semesters). That school is also a private school (not funded by the state), as is Midway. Prices for doctoral degrees (and undergraduate degrees, for that matter) from private colleges and universities are extremely expensive. So...$30,000/year is about the going price for a doctoral program and at private college/university. Plus, the newer schools are easier to get into in their first 2-3 years.

I take it the students will not be from around here because who can afford that kind of tuition.

Unfortunately, no matter where you go, it is extremely hard to obtain a professional level degree without using student loans... and sometimes extensive amounts of them. Sad, really... but that's reality.

Tuition is much higher at private colleges. That is simply the way it is. What is the actual tuition for the new school in Paintsville? They probably won't have any trouble filling a class regardless of the cost.

Tuition will probably start somewhere around $30,000/year and progressively increase. That's about average/normal for new professional degree programs and private colleges.

price is not a problem, you pay it back in three years, big deal, invest in yourself.

Anything positive brought to this area is a good thing. I think it is wonderful. I would rather pay a little more and have my son closer to home. We'd save on lodging and gas going to and fro.
