My family and I are moving to Pikeville. Any ideas for homes for sale with a budget of $170 -$200,000.?

Not knowing where to start...

Check with AAA Realty, usually a good listing of homes. Depending on where you live, size of home you need, etc., you can find plenty of very nice homes in that price range. I would recommend AAA realty be your first stop though, they are good.

Went to AAA Realty's site and it looks very reputable. My family and I are interested in a brick home as our preference, but I hate to see anyone put-down off-site built modular homes or "mobile homes," as they are everywhere in the country. I have lived several places and visited Pike County already several times. We have driven up many hollows, but I do not notice the stereotypical things I have heard about eastern Kentucky as compared to other places I have lived. In fact, I look forward to moving to Pike County.

Thanks to those of you who recommended AAA Real Estate. I appreciate it. I would appreciate any further advice as well.

You will find housing in Pikeville is very inflated price wise, way more than most smaller towns. Houses that would go for 200K here would be 130K elsewhere. The biggest variable is what neighborhood a house is in. Cedar Creek and Bowles have decent houses that would be in your price range if you were looking in Lexington or Georgetown or something, but here, they are in the 300K range. You can find similar houses to those neighborhoods for 200K or so if you go to the more rural areas and don't mind being surrounded by broken down trailers and ferral dogs.

while moving to pikeville I contacted every realtor about A possible rental - only Hensley real estate services was accomodating - found us a nice rental for a year made us welcome - will definitely buy from them when I am ready, certainly the most accomodating and quite possibly the best.

With AAA, Brenda Gooslin is the best! Her and Shirley Blackburn.
