The president is NOT coming after your guns. The legislation is to ban assault rifles, which should be used for military only; limit magazines, which if an incident occurs maybe no one or not as many people will be injured or killed, which is a SANE idea; background checks on everyone even at gun shows, which is a SANE idea. Hunters and sane people: You have nothing to worry about. God bless the people who have lost loved ones to the mentally insane and/or evil people of the world due to guns. You can now stop with "Them there people in Warshington ain't taking my guns." You are correct. They're not. Unless you do not pass the requirements on the background checks.

No such thing as an "assault" rifle. That is a media coined term. What's wrong with having these so called "assault" rifles? Are they too black and scary looking for you? Oh and limiting high capacity mags is pointless. They'll just carry more low capacity ones. A mag changes takes around 1.5 secs if not less.

And in that 1.5 seconds, a potential victim could be 1.5 seconds further away. It could be a possibility of getting behind a locked door.

Assault weapons part of the gun legislation won't pass! Look for the closing of background loop holes and maybe high capacity magazines to be banned, both are easy to work around.
They will go after the ammunition which would be easier to do without having to go through the legislative process even though some of the things they will do will end up in the courts...Assault style rifles will be 3 times more expensive even after the ban fails this time. They know the threat of a ban later on will keep the demand high, the get while you can mentality will drive the market. Ammo will be 3 times more expensive and hard to find also, several branches of the federal government can make it hard on ammo manufacturing plus the fact that the government can buy up most of the production to keep the price high and dry up supply. The government eats up more than 90% of FMJ.223/556, 9mm,.308 ammo now for U.S. use and buying for foreign governments. Production for government contracts ties up a lot of mfg for the civilian sector.....The price will be high ut the supply will be plentiful after a few years when South American Mfg's start running running their ammo accros the porous southern border....They win in the long run because price and availability will still cut the number of guns going to private citizens in half over the next 10 years, getting ammo for those guns will be very hard short term and very expensive long term....free market works as much for guns and ammo as it does for anything else, supply and demand.

Then just take all of the guns.

Problem solved.

That is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. 1.5 secs isn't gonna save anybody trust me. Oh and by the way, anybody that has ever wanted a high capacity mag has bought one within the last 2 months. There are plenty out there so banning them is pointless.

When you mention James Earl Ray and confederacy in the same quote than one should realize that nothing is going to connect to your shallow thinking. We as a society would be better off if no weapons were available, I have nothing against people who hunt, I do realize that this makes a healthier stock, but when someone can use rapid fire in our theaters, malls and schools than it should register that perhaps we do need better gun control to weed out those with felonies and mental health issues. We will always have acts of violence, but not like we have had in the last few years. I think some sort of new law will pass on gun control especially after the slaughter of the school children, but it probably won't be the best that we need. The NRA will do more damage to the republican party than any other source. Rational people will remember their stance on this situation.

Yadayadayada, and yes, true, they have already bought them. Banning now may be pointless, but perhaps not for the future. All of our future criminals who are underage age right now will have a harder time getting their hands on them. Here's where I split, because I'm all for our second amendment. If they ban guns, criminals would be the only ones with them. But when they gave us that right, the guns weren't as sophisticated as they are now. To need more than five rounds to protect yourself would be in a zombie apocalypse. Sorry, but that's my opinion. So what if they make it harder to own a gun. Unless you have a shady background, it shouldn't effect you.

The world as you know it is coming to an end,yet you set there unaware of the changes, eating your cheese puffs watching the game on tv waiting for that check to arrive in your account. although it is not the end of the world the day your checks fail to arrive you will feel as though it has. no more lazy days it has now gotten real it is out to the fields to find your daily meals. rats, rabbits, racoons, anything that moves you catch it anyway you can because obama has done took all your guns now this is no easy task as all you have ever done is set around being lazy and gaining weight like crazy but thats just how it is its the price you pay for free biscuits and gravy. The time to awaken has come and gone now it is time to pay the piper you lazy bums.

I'm all for more intense background checks for gun purchases. That is fine by me and that will help. What I am not for is limiting mag capacity and AR-15s. I am a sporting shooter and I love going out to competitions with my AR. A 5 round mag just doesn't cut it for sport shooting.

The government here in the U.S. wants to rid us of our weaponry so they may expand their authority more easily. If we give in to this demand to ignore this right given to us by our own Constitution, Obama and his thugs will be putting us on the trains. It is not an exaggeration. He may not use trains, but he will be another Hitler.

I have a dear friend that is a high ranking member of home land security, the above post was just sent to me by him via e-mail.
He also tells me that if everyday citizens knew what is coming; they would no longer support Mr. Obama.
My friends, the "FEMA" camps are not for FEMA now. They are containment camps.
I know many will argue against this, but it is true!
