For some reason, I listened to the Herbie Deskins show today on WDHR and I was totally appalled by his behaviour. I have never heard someone spew such hatred against republicans. For someone who relies on the public to make a living, it would seem he wouldn't make such an effort to alienate the entire republican population. I am a republican, but would never talk about Democrats in the way he did republicans. He had the unmitigated gall to tell me Barack Obama was doing great things for the coal industry. I would like to know what planet this man is living on. Our county lives and breathes because of the coal industry. Barack Obama is taking food out of our mouths and Herbie Deskins thinks he is doing great things. Please...all republicans and coal miners...boycott Herbie Deskins...and boycott WDHR for allowing this man to undermine our intelligence by telling us what great things Barack Obama is doing for us. I hope he paid them well, because I for one will not be listening to their radio station again.

Thank god someone has the sense and balls to stand up and be a liberal in this area. I know it's hard to understand, but if you can put the gun and the bible down long enough and actually listen to what the man said, he had a lot of points.

I love trailer trash that think they have enough money to be a republican. Democrats want to raise taxes. Of course they do! But not on you! Unless you are a multi millionaire. The right wing in this country disgusts me. Kudos to Herbie Deskins and WDHR. I will give them my listening and respect more than ever now.

Besides, whatever happened to freedom of speach? Wanna talk about a moron in the media, look at Bill O'reiley, or Glenn Beck. Glenn Beck is just batshit crazy. Want to go local? WQHY and WYMT have obviously been biased right wing tea baggers as long as I've ever known.

Get over it Eastern Kentuckians, 99.9% of you don't make enough money to even worry about republican tax cuts, unless you own a corporation of course. I know plenty of rednecks with millions of dollars and corporations. Only that I don't.

Thank you for calling Republicans trailer trash. I'm not dogging Democrats at all. Everyone has the right to express their political freedom, but people like Herbie Deskins who use their money to flaunt their complete ignorance need to be silenced. As for me, I will keep my Bible and my gun. Shame on you Herbie Deskins and shame on you WDHR for allowing this.

Again, everyone has the right to say on air whatever they like. There are plenty of right and left wing media outlets in this country. In this area, far more right than left. Good on you Herbie Deskins AND WDHR.

I love how tea baggers love to tote the line about the Constitution but as soon as someone practices freedom of speech, they jump all over it unless of course it's right wing propoganda like most radio stations you will hear around here.

Also, all the teabaggers protesting Obama's health care plan (which was the same one presented by Republican Bob Dole in the 90's) were all so mad about how much it would cost to make sure everyone would get to go to the doctor.

Where are the teabaggers protesting now at this ridiculous tax cut that we can not afford, hmm? Thought you all cared SOOOO much about the defecit lmao guess you only care unless it gives you a tax credit that you don't deserve and the country can't afford. Guess it's okay to spend trillions on frivolous wars too. Just make sure we dont spend a dime for little johnny to get to go to the doctor! Pathetic hypocrites.

Wow!!! You're way off. This is not about freedom of speech. This is about paying good money that could have really done some good elsewhere, to bash Republicans. Just think of all the kids that money could have fed. Instead Herbie Deskins uses his money to spew hate. I am not debating politics. I am not a hater of Democrats. I am a hater of someone who uses his position and his money to force his imbecilic views on others. There is good and bad in both the Republican and Democratic parties. We are not idiots and we are not hypocrites. As for the health care issue...there are plenty of government plans right now to send "little Johnny" to the doctor. Oh, any by the way...it's "toe the line"..not "tote the line". I'm pretty sure you are Herbie Deskins, since I told you today that I would be posting this on Topix. Good try though.

Yes,just because we all have the right to say whatever we want doesn't mean that it is wise to do so.

You are completely correct. I can't believe someone who relies on the public to make a living would get on public radio and alienate so many people. I am so offended by this. I would never bash Democrats. We all have the right to our own politcal views and I don't have a problem with his views. I do have a problem with him completely bashing the opposing party because he has the money to do so. I have a problem with WDHR allowing him to do this for the almighty dollar. I also have a problem with him telling me that I am a racist because I don't like Barack Obama. He also told me that he wishes he could spend all day bashing people like me. Too bad he doesn't spend his time and money doing good for our community instead of trying to tear us apart. Maybe I am ranting, but this has really touched a nerve. This country needs to come together, not be pushed further apart by people like Herbie Deskins.

He said what he thought, but how many people did he offend in the process? I would definitely not want someone for a lawyer that didn't think anymore about the consequences than he does. If I had that kind of money, I would use it for good, not to try to tear people apart.

I'm not doing this to be called names or to call others names. I'm doing this to make a point. We need to come together as a country, not to be brought further apart. If it makes you feel better to call me names...feel free.

People like you only want us to come together if we come together under your terms. It's the right wings way. The party of "no" unless you agree with us.

But I think I've decided to let this one go for now, since you obviously know nothing of real news or media at all. Do you have any idea how many radio stations and/or hosts of various tv and radio shows go on rants all day bashing the other side? Ever heard of Rush Limbaugh? Now there is an asshole who does nothing but spew hatered EVERY SINGLE DAY. But you don't have a problem with that because he is a right wing teabagging neo fascist nut job right?

If it wasn't for people like Herbie Deskins in the 60's in this country, many people would still be oppressed.

The Dixie Chicks were right.
