Obama Spent $634 Million to Build Broken Healthcare.gov Website

I could have built him a broken website for only $633 million. But I have trouble even taking in or believing that number is real.

...

Really? 50,000 users at a time? You spent 600 mil on that? Facebook handles 10 million concurrent users. Even MySpace managed 1 million concurrent users.

...

Maybe those are unfair comparisons, but Obama Inc. was planning a massive healthcare rollout that would only have 50,000 concurrent users?

But maybe it’s not so surprising.

...

In comparison, in 2008, under President George W. Bush, CGI contracts totaled only $16.5 million for all federal departments and agencies.

That’s certainly a major shift. Why are we suddenly spending 1.4 billion on contracts to a Canadian IT company? It gets complicated.

Simply further proof that the government couldn't find their azz with their hands. They spend money simply to spend money, it is their philosophy that if it costs a lot it must be good.

I believe that huge inflated payments are a way to pay off cronies and supporters. Don't give the job to the most qualified. Give it to one of your friends and over pay them by a large amount. Maybe with the instructions to further distribute the money to smaller entities in order to laundry the money and hide the payments.

Have a nice day ...

A Purposeful Assault on Order
By Jeffrey T. Brown
Humans succeed in the administration of a society only when there are neutrally applied rules to protect its citizens, the rules are followed, and rule-breakers are punished. Society can only function to the benefit of its members when the actions of those members are governed, even if involuntarily, by a spirit of objective justice. We were blessed at the inception of our country with brilliant men and women, on the verge of creating a country in which they could have given themselves vast power, instead whose principles guided their hands. They influenced and wrote the most balanced, ordered blueprint for a civil society the world has ever known.

The other fact is that continued over spending is damaging to all of us and our future(yours)children and the Country as a whole.
Unfortunately , too many in Congress and Our present POTUS can not see the power slip from their hands. To allow the people freedom is just too much for all of them. The system is badly broken.

Not 'fined'...taxed...remember ? The Obamacare is taxes that's why is upheld by the court. How are they going to ask someone to pay for something that doesn't even work? Why if doctor doesn't like Obamacare, is not just voluntary? Why if you don't like Obamacare, is not just voluntary? Why force people to buy anything if they don't want too? Republicans Reach Pathetic Record Lows in Gallup Polling

While on the surface most Republicans you hear from concerning the government shutdown will try to tell you that this is the fault of President Obama and Democratsthe American people arent buying it.

In what might be the best example of just how far down the GOP has fallen, Gallup recently released a poll showing Republican favorability at all-time lows.

Republican favorability hit 28% this month, down from 38% in September. Taking it a step further, Republicans also hit a record high for being viewed unfavorably at 62%.

Granted, both parties arent exactly popular, but Republican numbers are atrocious compared to Democrats (43% favorably, 49% unfavorably).

The key part of this is the massive drop for Republicans from September through now. While theyve maintained from the start that President Obama and Democrats are to be blamed for the government shutdown, its very apparent the American people are clearly blaming Republicans for the shutdown.

And rightfully so.

Maybe if Speaker of the House John Boehner would allow the House of Representatives to vote on a clean version of the Senates continuing resolution, and the bill failed to pass (it wouldnt), then Republicans might have a leg to stand on here. But all we have is John Boehner repeatedly saying there arent enough votes in the House to pass the Senates resolutionyet he wont allow the House to vote on it.

Then dont forget the shutdown is still in its early stages. As time goes on, more and more Americans are going to get angry and the majority of that blame will fall squarely on the shoulders of the Republican party. While theres no doubt that some Americans will blame President Obama and Democrats, they pale in comparison to those blaming the GOP.

And for those who will try to claim that this poll done by Gallup is liberally biased, Gallup has historically been known to lean to the right when it comes to their polling results.

What this poll doesnt take into account is the continued divide within the Republican party itself as the shutdown continues. While some are firmly entrenched in the delusion that theyre winning, quite a few Republicans are well aware that this is a no-win situation for their party that will only get worse as time goes on.

I truly believe these next few months will be quite interesting to observe as the infighting within the Republican party grows.

Now, will these polling results make any difference? Maybe a little, though I really dont think Republicans know what the heck to do now that they have their shutdown. Theres really nothing they can do where they come out of this situation looking anything but weak.

Theyre not going to succeed in delaying, defunding or repealing Obamacare and thats what they claim this shutdown will accomplish. Exceptit wont.

Right now, what were witnessing is the pride of the GOP putting their own partisan ambitions ahead of the American people. And thats exactly what this Gallup poll shows us.

But will the GOP listen? Probably not.

Bachmann Gone Wild: Insane Congresswoman says Obama Close to Dictatorship and is Impeachable

In the world of the Republican party, November 6, 2012 must have never happened. For the rest of us, we know that to be the night that President Obama was overwhelmingly re-elected President of the United States. Also, Democrats gained back some seats in both the House and the Senate.

Despite those facts, people like Michele Bachmann continue to live in a delusional reality where somehow Obama became president through some sort of magic trick.

During a conference call sponsored by TeaParty.net , Bachmann once again proved that shes one of the most ridiculous members of Congress our country has ever witnessed.

Rep. Bachmann asked if our country is going to be totally devolved into a dictatorship under somebody like Barack Obama, and claimed we need to get back to being a constitutional republic.

Funny, isnt one of the key aspects of being a constitutional republic the fact that elections matter? Because thats something Republicans seem to not care about.

How exactly is President Obama acting like anything close to a dictator? A health care bill was passed by Congress, signed by the president into law and upheld by the Supreme Court. Then the American people re-elected the president who signed that law and gave more seats in Congress back to the party which supports the law.

Yet somehow expecting this law to be implemented makes President Obama a dictator? This is an impeachable offense? Are you kidding me?

You know what should be illegal and an offense worthy of being removed from office? The actions taken by Speaker of the House John Boehner in blocking the House of Representatives from being able to vote on a clean version of the resolution the Senate sent over before the government shutdown.

Talk about acting like a dictator. One man is keeping the House from voting (and passing) a resolution which the Senate has signed off on and the president would immediately signwhich would reopen our government.

But President Obama is acting like a dictator and impeachment should be discussed?

With every comment I read from Michele Bachmann I question whether or not shes actually legally sane. I really doubt she is. This woman seems so batshit crazy that its astounding she somehow got elected to public office. But her position in Congress is a true statement on just how radically delusional tea party Republicans truly are.

Because shes extremely popular with the tea party. In fact, in many ways, shes exactly what the tea party wants our government to be comprised of. Which is a terrifying thought.

I really dont believe Michele Bachmann has a clue how life works, let alone our government.

Boehner Abruptly Changes Strategy Following Outcry From Koch Brothers And Heritage

Last week, House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) bluntly refused to bring up any debt ceiling vote in the House without demanding Democratic concessions first, telling ABCs This Week,We are not going to pass a clean debt limit increase.

By Wednesday, conservative powerhouses Heritage Foundation and Koch Industries made room for a new plan when both urged Republicans to approve a debt ceiling increase with no strings attached. In a striking change in tone, House GOP leadership have presented a clean six-week debt ceiling extension that does not include a plan to fund the government.

At a press conference Thursday, House GOP leadership announced the new strategy, one day after Heritage Action CEO Michael Needham admitted the group will give the speaker some flex on a short-term debt limit increase, in order to extend the shutdown over Obamacare. On Wednesday, Koch officials increased the pressure with a letter for inquiring members who have asked what our position is on this issue that claims the conservative billionaires never supported withholding government funds over Obamacare.

Privately, Koch officials told Congress a U.S. default would be a disaster.

Both groups have been driving forces throughout the debt and shutdown crises and are responsible for putting Tea Party members in Congress in the first place. Even now, its not clear if the Tea Party that Heritage and Koch helped to create will accept a deal on these terms, since debt ceiling truthers refuse to recognize that default is an economic threat.

Update
Heritage Action announced that it would not count a vote for a debt extension against conservatives in its scorecard of congressional votes. We do not support clean debt ceiling increases, but because Heritage Action is committed to giving House Leadership the flexibility they need to refocus the debate on Obamacare we will not key vote against the reported proposal, Needham said.

Report: A mere 51,000 people signed up on Obamacare site in first week

The Congressional Budget Office is hoping for at least 7 million enrollees by the end of the 6-month open enrollment period to keep Obamacare financially afloat. At this rate, total national enrollment would be approximately 2 million, including state-run exchanges.

The report comes after a Comedy Central interview with HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius earlier this week where she claimed she had no idea how many Americans had signed up for Obamacare.

I cant tell you, Sebelius told Daily Show host Jon Stewart, because I dont know.

George Will: Obama cut classes the day they taught separation of powers at Harvard Law

David
Obama likely is somewhat aware of that document called the Constitution which has guided this nation in becoming the envy of the world. However, he could give a damnnnnnnnnn.

Ariadnea David
I doubt he knows anything at all. As a constitutional professor, he seems so ignorant on most everything about it and his country. Many of us ordinary folks in Canada have more knowledge about USA and it's constitution than Barack Obama. Isn't that a shame of Harvard to have such an uninformed graduate from their suppose to be expensive and "prestigious" school?

Abu Nudnik Ariadnea
Constitutional professor was padding. Under the padding was "lecturer." Under "lecturer" was "guest lecturer." I'm sure he lectured because he does it all the time and I'm sure he was a guest somewhere at the University. Maybe they wanted a Marxist interpretation of the constitution and he gave one. See the audio of a damning radio interview wherein Obama trashes the Constitution: http://www.youtube.com/watch... ...

Clearly he has no idea what he's talking about. The Constitution does not "invest formal rights." It is not a "charter of negative rights," or any rights whatever. Rights exist a priori in the American system and the Bill of Rights orders Congress to pass no laws impinging upon them. As for his comment that the Constitution doesn't tell the government "what do do on your behalf," I give you Marx: "From each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs." In the first case, the "able" will decide that. In the latter, someone else will "decide" what you "need."

Will Hunt David
It's a joke that Obama was a "Constitutional Scholar" and a professor. Obama was a "guest lecturer" who's lectures followed the theme of why he thinks the Constitution is a POS document of negative liberties.
