I can't believe this really needs explained. Regardless of how many citizens in this country belive in Christianity, we are not a "Christian Nation." We are a country built on the "Freedom of Religion" this alone, proves we have no "State Sponsored Relgion". Hence by the very defintion we are a Secular Nation. And this very thing, is but one of the things that makes America so great. If anyone disagrees, I suggest you go live in a Country that is acutally goverened by a Religion, then come back here, and tell us we're not a Secular nation.

Lets see the first three to four commandments define God and outline how man is to relate to Him. Similarly, the main body of the Constitution defines the Union and outlines how citizens are to relate to it. In the Decalogue, God is simply defined as,“I am the Lord your God” while in the Constitution, the Union is defined as,“We the People of the United States”. In terms of how believers or citizens are to relate to their God or Union, respectively, phrases such as,“This Constitution…shall be the supreme Law of the Land” and “The Senators and Representatives before mentioned…shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution” parallel “I am the Lord your God” and you shall not “have any gods before me”. Furthermore, it could be argued that the Constitution’s stance on Treason bears similarity to God’s stance on false idols. The Constitution carefully defines treason as,“consist[ing] only in levying War against [the United States], or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort” and gives Congress the “Power to declare the Punishment of Treason”. In Exodus 20:4-5 and Deuteronomy 5:8-9, it states,“you shall not make for yourself an idol…you shall not bow down to them or worship them, for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, punishing children for the iniquity of parents.”
The first three or four commandments of the Decalogue and the main body of the Constitution define God, the Union, and their relationship to the adherents of both documents, the remainder of both (the last six to seven commandments and the Bill of Rights of the Constitution) outline how man is to treat his fellow man.“You shall not steal” and “You shall not covet your neighbor’s house” reflects itself in the Fifth Amendment, where “private property [is not to] be taken for public use, without just compensation”.“You shall not murder” is, to some degree, also covered in the Fifth Amendment, where citizens shall not be “deprived of life, liberty, or property” with the caveat,“without due process of law”. And “you shall not bear false witness against your neighbor” could be said to parallel The Sixth Amendment’s guarantee of a “speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury” in which the accused will be “confronted with the witnesses against him [and] have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor”.

These people can't grasp what it would truly mean to be a "Christian Nation", nor do they understand what "Secular Nation" means.

Mind trying to counter the post with something valid? Or do you need to resort to personal attacks, because you can't counter it?

Hi, Big Cat here. Just providing you with your daily reality check. Let's think about how many times YOU have used such tactics. Your lesson for today is, the word HYPOCRITE.

I seldom resort to personal attacks. And when presented with an actual argument, I usually provide a counter argument. I only lash out at those like you, who started the personal attacks to begin with. Once more you're grasping at straws, and making false claims because you lack the ability to do anything else. So I'm sorry pal, but your label of "Hypocrite" doesn't fit in this sitiuation.

I Pledge Allegiance to the flag
of the United States of America
and to the Republic
for which it stands,
one Nation under God,
indivisible,
with liberty and justice for all.

I wonder why congress opens its sessions with this oath.....take note of the "under God" part.....
