You would expect a child or a drunk at the local bar to comment and rave on a subject they clearly are not educated on.

But in reading this weekends ramblings of vanderbeck concerning the airservice I am convinced that the owners of ANE could not care less of the qualifications of their employees.

And although he is not a child. And I don't think he is a local bar drunk I do think he is better suited at waiting tables.

Vanderbeck just how much have you researched the airservice proposed for PBX? No not the propaganda spewed out by Frank and the city council but the basic facts? And you mentioned that you were recently in CVG/Cincinnati and Chicago recently. Did you pay the cost of that trip or did someone else? Very important because some research will tell you Cincinnati is one of the most expensive major airports to fly from. Do a little more research and you will discover that a huge number of those in the Cincinnati travel to Dayton and Louisville for air travel. Why, well I will save you some research time. The cost. Everyday working people can save enough to travel the distance. So most of the travel out of CVG is business. People that have their company pay the cost. Then that cost is passed on to the consumer unfortunately.

And if CVG can't compete with DAY and SDF how do you think PBX can be affordable? It couldn't. It would just be another vehicle for the rich and privileged.

Sad that you continue to serve as a mouthpiece for Donavon and Frankie. A real news man would have spent some time talking to the people that know aviation the best. Pilots on the field at PBX. A real news man would have asked questions when your chummy pals spent 800K on a new row of airplane hangers when it only netted two new occupants. Those two new occupants are the state senator and the current chairman of the airport. A real news man would have reported that the previous two rows of hangars cost the people of Pike County less than 50K. A real news man would ask the mayor why he stores his airplane in a different city and rarely buys fuel from our airport? A real news man would ask why the rush to replace the entire airport board with those that fail to meet three or four times a year now. A real news man would note that the airport board attendance prior to the Merions Branch purchase was regular. Now we have members that rarely attend and one in particular hasn't been to a meeting in over fourteen months.

But jeff vanderbeck you are no news man. In my opinion you belong back waiting tables and taking tips from Frankie, not direction.

I fly at least 5-6 times a year. And yes I pay my ticket. With each of my trips I always use 6 departure airports. Charleston, Lexington, Tri Cities, Knoxville, Louisville and Cincinnati. Now for the wealthy I suppose this is strange or even laughable. But for me it makes the difference in paying my utilities on time or not. Most often I fly out of Louisville because of the savings. If my family is traveling with me then its a no brainer. The saving more often is over a thousand dollars.

How do you think a single, no competition, service could be affordable for the people of this area? Or do you concede that this service is just for the wealthy elite? Your reporting or lack thereof has hurt many people in this region with the false hope of being able to travel to vacation spots or to visit family. I remember the pictures you plastered the ANE with jet airplanes I remember your articles singing the praises of air travel. I remember the people in this area all abuzz about this new thing. I wonder where was your report about the fact that there was not going to be any air service. I wonder where your report about who was the three candidates for this service and why none of them will be here.

I wonder about many things you report about. But most of all I wonder about the things you fail to report about.

I price 6 different departure zones. Most often Louisville is the cheapest and Lexington is the highest. Cincinnati is always just under Lexington.

And vanderbeck thinks what is good for his handlers is good for the everyday Joe. Sorry but I have to work for my pay. I didn't inherit it or collect it for promoting propaganda.

Mr Vanderbeck why you have not reported on the current Now why haven't I read anything about this in the Express? Doesn't the story deserve as much coverage now as when the paper suggested we would be getting it? The people in Pike deserve to know what is going on. Not all of us can hang out with you and your regulars at the Bank 253 and receive the daily information feed from the city.
