Go to Robinson Creek go over Mountain to the once great Wheelwright. Two large movie houses, two bowling lanes, one big Olympic sized swimming pool. Super market half the size of food city. Come on down highway #122 across over at Minnie on the Greg Stumbo highway turn right on Ky #80 visit the once great Wayland almost as pretty as Wheelwright, they had a large drug store restaurant fountain that nicer than anything even Lexington has today, swimming pool two large grocery stores. Then go to Paintsville via #23 stop a Floyd County's Auxier, once the shopping center of East ky. Fresh meat markets, animal auction each Saturday, swimming pools two, two large hardware stores, bowling alley, grocery markets, a big department store. When coal left the businesses left. Go on to Paintsville and eat at the MANDARIN HOUSE RESTAURANT MAKES PEKING LOOK LIKE A GREASY SPOON.

Go look at McDowell, then look at the Doofus City Manager.

Pikeville will just be left for the rich, people in medical fields, check drawers and retired people. This is how all of Eastern Kentucky will be.There might be some fast food jobs and a couple lumber and small town stores. This place will be turned into a place for the big wigs to have a place to play on weekends. Ghost town here we come.

It's very likely that Pikeville will be in ruins like a ghost town..but then again, America as we know it may not even exist then either.

It will be the same as it is now except for probably a few more red lights...Pikeville never really changes except for adding red lights in front of every business or creek junction. I can see it now; one giant slow moving wad of traffic going around and around on the first of every month...

Being the county seat and all the court houses and tax collectors reside there, there will be some sort of a city. Probably be called Maytown after Walter comes in and buys most of it at fire sale prices, what don't actually go up in smoke when premiums and payments start rubbing against insurance policies. You will still have your 1% living in the Bowles edition and the gated communities but the slums around the mountain side will grow. Downtown area will be as about half, the lawyers will move when what part of the county is left has sued one another all they can. Coal company related lawyers and services will be replaced by gas company lawyers and services. 1st and third of the month will be the big days and the rest of the month you will be able to find parking anywhere on main all day long any day of the week.

They should rename it The Wastepo. They would have been better off building the Hospital's parking garage there instead of in front of PMC as they did. The Expo is a joke.

Anyone who has any money at all will have moved away and I don't mean to another city or state. They'll probably move to another country if this country keeps moving in the same direction. With no industry or jobs in the eastern ky area, this will probably end up being a ghost town, zombie land or a little Detroit.

Frankie will be living in his fairyland castle in the sky up on Peach Orchard. His next big project after he declares himself King of Maytown!

The rest of the taxed to death peons and serfs will be mucking out an existence down in the walled city with all the outlanders out in the county trying to storm the city gates, trying to get their coal severance tax back.

Eh Tigger, when they do it will suck regardless, we already know that. I could name 5 major tours right now that would be great for The Expo but there is not a chance in hell they (the Expo mgmt.) would sign the contracts to bring them there. It's in the early stages of discussion right now but myself and another friend or two are talking about trying to open a venue in Pikeville perhaps. It would more than likely only be open a few nights a week and would specialize more in lesser known, more underground bands. With my contacts and Pikeville being a mid-point hub between the Va./W.Va./TN./N.C./KY. regions it would be perfect..we'll just have to see what happens.

And you have done even LESS than I apparently. I base that on the fact you hide your identity on here so shamefully as you tremble in fright struggling to make sure you are not identified here publicly. To take such measures indicates that you are so worthlessly useless that even
you don't want to be named due to what a POS failure people already know you to be.

Nothing will happen to Pikeville. It's a college town. College kids will keep the stores busy with mommy and daddy's money.
If anyone leaves, it will be the out of work miners right now, and by this time, Pikeville won't be feeling the pressure.
