Have you ever had your car towed?
lol
Having someone's car towed usually occurs because someone has parked somewhere they should not have or done something illegal. It's a far cry from holding someone's pet ( a living animal not an inanimate object ) hostage to extort money from them.

Go to the county attorney's office and ask them to charge the vet with theft for failure to make required disposition of property. The charge fits with the KRS statutes. You might also want to talk to a local attorney about a class action suit for boarding fees. Sounds like he has done this to several people.

unfortunately that is commonplace in pike county, our court system is set up to allow for such to occur without consequence.
all pike county court is about is making money.
the prosecutor and judge and even the defense lawyers cut the best deals in order to make the most money for the court.
my dog had surgery and i was told to bring him back in to have his stitches removed, he was taken into a back room and when they brought him back out i automatically put him in his carrier and went up front and paid, only to discover when i got home that the stitches had not even been removed....
i called and asked about this and they said, they must have gotten busy doing something else and forgotten, hmmmm, they say take a small pair of scissors and remove them myself, i wonder why i bothered taking my dog back there at all.

Wow! I agree with your take on our local Court System but you know what? It's not just them, it's any businesses as well. That is why a person needs to visually check and inspect anything they
buy, have done, or get worked on these days and do not pay for anything until you have inspected the work supposedly done. NEVER
pay for anything up front before the work is completed either.

well, they told me there was no charge for the stitches being removed as it was part of the surgery, however because my dog had another procedure at the same time, i think he had his anal glands cleaned, well, they charged me for that.....i guess they cleaned my anal glands at the same time, haha

If this is true at all then what these business owners are doing is basically Abduction / Kidnapping
( petnapping?) of people's animals. It seems this would be a prosecutable offense since people's pets
are somewhat akin to " property " and shouldn't be held as hostages due to any unpaid bill. What this
Vet is doing is absurd.
Very well said, sir. I agree 100%.

you cant take groceries from food city without paying. Obviously, the vet deserves his money for any treatment. His policy isnt a secret or just out to get you personally. It is how he gets PAID. HIS JOB. Someone must have taken pets before and not paid him. He studied too long to work for FREE.

Yes there is a new vet clinic opening jan or feb. they will bring Collins bunch to thier knees, my dog was "lost" too about 3 months ago....Rotti & GS mix, but they still wanted me to pay the $190.00 vet bill, you're kidding me right? My brother in laws dog was wrongfully put down the day before Thanksgiving, they said it was a "mix up" well, lets just say....he had his first consultation with his atty. today...hope they get treated with same disregard as they treat thier customers!

Can you tell us exactly where on Robinson Creek this vet clinic will be located? This is very good news as I live in this area. It would be great to travel only a short distance to the vet with my pets.

From experience, the absolute best Vet I have ever had the privilege af meeting is Dr. Green. His office is just below Prestonsburg, close to the Hospital exit. I have never had any bad experiences with Joey but have found his office workers to be rude at time. I'm kind of sure his wife works there sometimes. and when you involve someone like that they always act like they run the show and have to exercise their authroity. Keeping someones pet over a couple dollars is pathetic. This is exactly what topix was meant for. Dr. Green and his wife, whom is also a Vet, must love pets. I know I will never use another Vet as long as they are there. It spoils you to actually have someone who likes what they do. Hard to go back to someone who lets the girls up front treat you like crap.

Cheaper to just do it yourself. you can buy the vaccinations at Tractor Supply or order them online. don't have to put up with a few office girls so hateful they make going to the Vet seem like a nightmare. Don't get the nasal vaccines as they are hard to get right. Better yet is to just drive the thrity minutes down to Dr. Greens and get treated like somebody. A place where you know your pet will get treated good too.
