Just wondering why the Pikeville city police were over near Belfry last Wednesday pulling over cars on 119. Has Pikeville annexed that far? If not, is that even legal?

I think they were stopping out of state tags and people they suspected of using a social network to voice their opinion about possible corruption or wasteful spending of public money by elected officials and or their puppets.

I don't think its people from outta state they need to worry about! Its the ones right under their noses they better be concerned with ? I've seen alot of very questionable decisions in Pike County & Mingo County over the past 20 years. But the problem with both counties actually started over Uncle Sams money. The corruption is just an excuse to get them out of office when they believe they're untouchable. The way they parade the corruption around in these hillbilly states ? Its nearly impossible to not know about it. There is no one to blame for what's coming other than themselves. When they took the jobs they applied for ? They were well trained in the field. Choosing to operate outside the state guidelines and expecting people not to try and protect family is completely stupid.

Since you all don't know they have county jurisdiction on any crimes and statewide on felonies. Maybe if the county would do their jobs then the city would not have to worry about it. For you people who are only on here to try and start gossip should really get a LIFE

Actually, I am well versed in the law. I just think the citizens of Pikeville deserve to have their cruisers stay in Pikeville. Not taking care of a perceived issue some 20 miles from the city limits. I believe this to be a valid question about the spending of the city's dollars. This is not gossip, but, rather something I observed. So, do you have an answer or not?

The city was asked to assist other Law Enforcement entities with a operation. So yes they used good judgement with the city dollars. This was also a positive way to enforce and keep the roads in this area safe.

Its also a good way to petition the state for a bigger budget for more police. You know ? Not enough people cruising around on a state dollar.

No, the reason they are on the road is for the easy money. Most cops now are nothing but revenue collectors. For those of you that live in a subdivision, how often do you see a cop patroling? Never, they are too busy writing tickets. Lazy bastards.

I spoke to my professor about this. It was the county police, Pikeville city police, and the state police doing "drug stops" in a corrupted way. They were directing people off the main road onto the old road. They easily got around the "search and seizure" ordeal. As long as anything is openly visible in your vehicle and they see it, they can search without a warrant. Sobriety tests are considered legal for any reason, and most likely the crooked cops used that excuse to do what they did. We need less crooked cops, and more respectable ones.

Well, here's something you should know... "Me opinion" is actually incorrect, it's "my". Also, I have lived here my entire life. I'm, of course, a college student, who happens to be working on getting a degree in Criminal Justice, and I plan on becoming a cop. I believe in no manner that I would ever be non-respectable or crooked, and yes I'm a female. We need more female officers around here anyways. Of course there is corruption, but you're forgetting, most of the "dumb hillbillies" let it happen. It's years later and they're just now complaining, when honestly they have no right. The "common folk" of which you speak, is a bunch of backwoods pill heads, why else would a ton of people be getting arrested here recently for drug possession and drug use? Because of you "common folk", my generation is going to suffer because we have to put up with your crap and all the damage you've caused us, along with how you've brainwashed so many of the upcoming generation already. Maybe if people got their sh*t together and got a life, fought the crooked political personal, and started to care about the community instead of down it, the cops around here wouldn't have to be pricks or liars. They do as they're told by those corrupted people. It takes a community to take action to fix it.

FACT....for you're information..."Me Opinion" is correct!! I didn't want to utilize "My"! So now we got that out of the way!!!
Congrats to you for getting an education and pursuing your dream of becoming a cop! I wish you nothing but success!! As far as corruption goes I'm sure there are MANY cops out there that have said the same thing! Some choose to get out of it when they see things are not done the right way and then there are some who choose to stay because they are fulfilling their dream of being a cop! So I hope that you're able to stay in and handle it cause you WILL see some type of corruption no matter where you choose to work!! It's all how you handle and deal with it! I've known many cops who have chosen a different line of work cause they couldn't deal with the corruption & politics! As far as you calling the people of the county "dumb hillbillies" isn't correct...that would be our leaders that you are referring to...they are the ones who allowed the corruption! Also calling the folks "pill heads" yeah..they are many but I doubt they would be the ones out voting! So I'm sure there will be more folks than I that take offense to your post when you are referring to the folks of this wonderful county who are gonna make a change next election and take a stand as dumb! Just like you.. we are fed up with nothing being done!! One thing I can say you got going for ya is you definitely got the conceited attitude of becoming a cop but let's see how well you do out in the field! I'm sure there will be many who will bring you down a notch or two...my guess would be the "dumb hillbillies" will be the first to break you in!!! Enjoy your career!!!

your information*, and no, it's still "my" lol. Also, the "dumb hillbillies" reference is not for the leaders, it's for the residents. If the leaders were stupid, then how come they were able to get so much power to corrupt everything? Simple, the "dumb hillbillies" allowed. You might want to get your ducks in a row before you try to shoot the ones who know a thing or two of what they're saying. I won't be broken in either because unlike most people, I won't break at all.:) Good luck on misunderstanding the way things actually work.

LMAO....oh silly one...you got a long road ahead of ya....it's called LIFE!!! Maybe one day you'll see reality!!!
Well Pike Countians she has confirmed it not once but twice that we, " the residents" are "dumb hillbillies"..... What you all got to say about that? I've spoken my opinion on here and have decided not to make any more comments to her cause obviously she doesn't get it! Maybe by the time she becomes a "police officer" she will understand!!!! LMAO!!!!!!

Pikeville City police have county wide jurisdiction all of the time and statewide when requested by other agencies. So, be weary when you see them at marrowbone or belfry, they may be picking up a complaint or just assisting in that area for the day and they can and will enforce the laws there. Most people who complain about the police are the SSI, food stamp, "on the draw" types who are laughed at by everyone else in the nation and they don't even know it.
