LOL, I could never have such luck! I used to have a really bad lead foot when I was younger but after years of speeding tickets and fines I finally learned to slow my roll, heh. I will say this though, when I am riding my Harley I have a tendency to speed and I've passed dozens of Troopers and Police at very high speeds and none of them have ever bothered me.

Federal cutting money to the States, States cutting money to the counties and the cities. Bad economy and money from several sources are drying up for cities and states.

Small cities such as Coal Run are doubling down on the chickenshit nickel and dime tickets for fine money to float their little burg that ain't even big enough to be called a township. Pikeville and the rest will be just as bad. What they can't make in tax money they will make up with fine money!

The KSP station is right there. Maybe he was headed there on business and didn't want to bother with you. It seems that the Coal Run police usually usually pull you in that area.

Road Rage does make a point but I believe she is a little naive if she thinks that speed does not contribute to accidents and that they happen because of distractions alone. As matter of fact, accidents happen for many reason OTHER than just either of those as well. You can be the most observant, vigilant, mindful driver
on the road and STILL be victim to an accident at any time.
Oh yeah, if you're traveling much higher over the speed limit..speed alone would cause an accident. But come on....five miles over??? Also, intoxication, sleep deprivation, hazardous road conditions, and having to go poop could cause an accident....I guess having to go poop would be a distraction...lol. And to be the victim means that they are not the cause but the effect.

That's exactly what is all boils down to that's for sure. Money. Fees and fines and they're not collected unless the Police pack those Courts to start with. Undoubtedly many questionable tickets and arrests are being carried out so they can generate revenue in those courts.

I don't know who they're pulling over? I can be going 60 and cars will go around me like I'm sitting still. If you're going 60 now a days I guess that's too slow for some folk? But how they get away with doing these ridiculous speeds I'll never know???

It's called ticket quota. They have to write 2 times their monthly salary every pay period. It's an unwritten rule that is enforced. Also the issuance of citations are one of the States biggest moneymakers. Even if the citation is dismissed, most times you still have to pay court costs. Driving school is also a State moneymaker.
