i recently seen "the hangover 3", what is everyones thoughts on this movie? personally, it wasnt that funny, a few laughs but mostly i had to really dig deep to find a laugh.
and what about other new movies that you have seen or might have an interest in seeing?
one that looks like it will be a big flop is the new sandra bullock/melissa mccarthy movie, "the heat".
looks like "the internship" will suck royally as well.
"now you see me, now you dont" forgive me but jesse eisenberg really just gets on my last nerve. he is forever typecast as a bad version of mark zuckerberg!!
oh well, just thought i would ask.

The Hangover franchise died with Part II as far as I'm concerned because the first one was a riotfest of hilariousness but it was good for only that film and did not have enough to carry the 2 sequels since. I have never seen The
Social Network nor do I care to but I liked Eisenberg in both Zombieland, Free Samples, and 30 Minutes Or Less.

Hell, I just finally saw both Trouble With The Curve and Battleship just this past weekend so that gives you an idea how far behind I am seeing movies, LOL!

Hey Pinky, I wanted to tell you that I saw another Jesse Eisenberg movie recently named "Why Stop Now" from just last year (2012) and it was pretty good too. It also had Tracy Morgan in it and the plot is Eisenberg is a really good pianist with a shot to get a scholarship to a prestigious music academy but on the day of his try outs, which happens to be the same day his drug addict Mother enters rehab, her admission is denied unless she can give a dirty drug urinalysis..which she can't that day. So to get her admitted Jesse (Eli Bloom character) must help her score some dope and get her high and of course a bunch of hi(gh) jinks ensue when they begin their search to make that happen. Oh yeah, he's also got a younger sister who is a
troubled child due to her mother's issues and she (little girl) communicates via a sock puppet.

seen world war z on the 4th of july.
you think its about one thing, then it turns into something else.
no real back story and the z shows up too early into the movie, not really giving enough mystery.
it was kind of all over the place.
movie with a message, just not real sure what that message is.
but it is entertaining.

I really enjoyed Kevin James in Here Comes the Boom. Its not a new release and the title may put you off, but it was good and good for laughs. I would watch it again.

Isn't that another Zombie Apocalypse-type film..just bigger budgeted due to Brad Pitt's involvement? I myself am not a fan of the whole Zombie fad in fact, I'm kind of particular about films anyway. There's been a couple Zombie flicks I thought were alright, the more comedy/parody ones like Shaun Of The Dead. Speaking of which, the movie "Warm Bodies" looks like it could be amusing. You have basically confirmed what I already suspected: No World War Z for me anytime soon.

Oh no, that's definitely another no-show for me, Depends for varying reasons: One, I
am not a big fan of comedies and for me to like one it must be different and perhaps
even a bit dark. Two, I cannot stand Kevin James and have not seen a single film
I can recall him in and liking. Oh well, to each their own though!

And this is a DEFINITE no-show for me as well, Pinky. Mostly the same reasons..peculiar about comedies, etc. and as mush as I do not care for Kevin James, I freaking HATE Adam
Sandler altogether. I will tell you all a couple comedies I watched recently that were good ones: First is "21 & Over" which is hilarious. It's created by most of the same team that did The (first) Hangover and it's yet another type of "we gotta piece our life back together after last night's insanity.." but a lot of different hijinks. The
other one I saw is "Stand Up Guys" with Al Pacino, Christopher Walken, and Alan Arkin and it IS hilariously funny. Really good.

There are several movies that just hit the PPV/DVD market I'd like to see including Dead
Man Down, Spring Breakers, and The Host. Oh, and has anyone seen the sci-fi(?) flick
Upside Down? It looks quirky and interesting, two traits I love in a film.

there is a new ron burgandy movie coming out, cant think of the name of it, but will ferrell is always good for a few laughs.
i also seen wwz and yes, it is a zombie apocalypse movie.
but there is a twist, it really becomes more about how we have to destory ourselves in order to save ourselves.
i guess kind of the way nature weeds out the weak, or something.
as for the movie, there is alot that is all over the place and it moves to fast, there are too many different things going on and, they leave it kind of unfinished.
i almost wonder if there wont be a part two, but, i doubt it.
other than that, i havent seen too many new movies coming out that i care to see.

I think you mean Anchorman 2 maybe? I know you all won't believe this but that's another one I hate: Will Ferrel. None of those people are funny to me personally.. not him, not Adam Sandler or Kevin James, they all suck as far as I'm concerned. I like thought-out comedies, stuff like The Coen Bros.' The Big Lewbowski, Burn After Reading, The Men That Stare At Goats..now those are comedies. Or
Quentin Tarantino/Robert Rodriguez stuff.

Pacific Rim looks okay and anything Gullerimo Del Toro (however you say that director's name) is decent usually. My "wanna sees" right now are The Purge, The Iceman, and the newest chapter of just titled Wolverine. Oh, and Ryan Gosling has two great films out I want to see: The Place Beyond The Pines and Only God Forgives.

wwz is nothing like the walking dead, its fast paced and they dont really show the "zombies" eating people, i dont really want to go into detail and give it away for anyone who hasnt seen it, but there isnt alot of blood and gore.
its more about how to solve the problem.

For you SciFi fans; the new Star Trek Into Darkness was fantastic. I feel the best Star Trek movie yet. Plus, I really dig the whole change the past, so a new universe exist with classic crew of Kirk and Spock. I'm defiantly glad I saw that one on the big screen and didn't wait for it to come out on video.

I need to see BOTH of these new, latest Star Trek films myself. To be honest, I love the original television series and most of the cinema spin offs from it but was never a fan of any of the follow up series like Next Generation or whatever. It's even harder for me to imagine the set-up of these latest two films that are basically prequels to ALL of the known Star Trek franchise but they both look interesting.

As I said before, there are several films either out or coming out I'd like to see and now want to add the new Jeff Bridges/Ryan Reynolds film R.I.P.D. to that
list, LOL.

By the way, there's some new stuff on PPV I am considering watching and wondered
what your all's opinions on these films are if you've seen them:

Dead Man Down
The Host
Spring Breakers

Hey brother, yeah we tend to be on opposite ends of the spectrum when it comes to movie preference. You should give the last two Treks a try; they bring a new twist to the original stories. And unfortunately, I have been unable to see any of the movies you referred to above; although, I want to see dead man down. I just find my self with very limited "me" time these days.

Protein shots work well. I had a lot of work to do, so I snagged a protein shot 1/2 way through the work and it picked me up and I managed to succeed. I'll need to snag a few more.

Will do and they both look interesting. Plus my Dad's a big Trekkie
from the original TV series so he'd probably find them of interest too.

I still haven't seen any of the other movies I mentioned but I did see
the latest Ryan Gosling film (not yet released in the U.S.) "Only God
Forgives" and in a a word: Weird. Really good, just weird..but then a
lot of his stuff is..ala Drive, Lars And The Real Girl, etc.

I finally saw The Host last night and it was alright.
..I've seen worse (much worse) Sci Fi movies. It got a little "chick flick-ish" at times but hey, what can
you expect from the woman that created the Twilight franchise?
