Its like this Reynolds is a fine teacher if she is back at JC that is great/ wonderful I am happy for her she deserved it a long time ago. AS for Collins not sure if she is at JC anymore. But I do know there is a certain someone with no certification working with the head start at JC. NAMING no names find out yourself.
I am a Head Start employee @ JC...who are you talking about? we do not have to have the same cert as regular teachers.
U will not find any finer people than us at JC.

If little Johnny does well, people may expect him to have gainful employment some say.
You have no idea what parents, nor students care about. You simply felt like making a judgemental statement based on your own opinion, and obviously do not have a clue what you are talking about. I am so dam@@@ sick of people like you who have nothing better to do with your time or small brain as to post something like this. Every school system has good and bad teachers. Based on what they are paid (which is almost poverty level) do you really expect them to get excited about a job that most spent 6 years in college and many thousands of dollars to obtain. Why don't you try working for about $40,000 a year and see how excited you get about your job.

County Worst in State wrote:
<quoted text>You like the worst Test Scores in the State???
I am sick of the complaining. Teachers can only do so much. Students are responsible and so are the parents. Students should be encouraged to study by teachers and parents, and they should be punished if they do not obey, such as taking away the Iphones, Ipods, and everything else until they get their school work done.

As a teacher, I can assign two sections of a chapter as a reading assignment and I can guarantee that 40 or more out of 60 WILL NOT LOOK AT IT. The same 40 that doesn't read will come to class with IPhones, ear buds, and talk about being on Facebook all night. I would like to see the county school system ban all electronic devices by students since they are just a distraction from learning.

All teachers go for drug testing. Just like I would like to see all children be banned from all electronic devices along with teachers. Teachers text all day so what is the difference? Not fair for students to give up their phones , I pods, I pads if the teachers keep bring in their's. Is it? I would like to see Wagner hold hands with Kilgore and Thompson and go out the front door of the BOE and not return. Resign be done with it. It takes more than a child reading to gt higher test scores. What I would really like to see is favoritism leave every school. Some of these A students do not earn the grade it is handed to them. That is not right just because they play ball or the mom or dad is a teacher or both . Its a joke the whole school system is a joke.

You people amaze me. All the blame on the school systems, it's like playing cards you play the hand that you're dealt. Good years and bad years. This applies to the city and county, the gene pool is shallow sometimes. now are the teachers to blame for that. Some the teachers I know would say for some of you not to breed.

All these post here are indicative of the area.

And by the way. The city scores on the last test did not meet or exceed the state benchmark. I think the ANE failed to mention that, although they were 8th.

Being 8th and being below the state benchmark merits the front page in the paper. Now what are we dealing with?

Yes, there were schools in the state that did meet the benchmarks.

You're still in Pike County not Louisville and you're not DuPont Manual, ok. Do you think they wouldn't laugh in your face if you told them you were from Pikeville.

I haven't the Phoenix rise from the dust yet and probably never will in this area.

If they met the benchmark in most areas, would it not seem logical that they would have met the STATE benchmark or even close. Being close is not making the
benchmark, ok.

Yes, they have the best insurance plan! I am not worried about my job! I receive a retirement each month plus my salary. We are going to keep our jobs. Mr Wagner has several years left on his contract. By that time I will have worked the five years I need to get a second retirement. I work hard. I deserve it. Why don't you hater get a life. Shame on you.
