This is Jackie Bowling. This is my first time posting on Topix. I don't know why my name is being dragged into this but I have not posted here. A friend just called to tell me that my name is here. I am not Juju. I don't normally waste my time on gossip sites such as this.

I thought the topic was about MSHA being Anti-Coal. Who cares who is screwing who at MSHA and who's not doing their job? Do you think MSHA is the only place that this happens. Looks like to me people need to get a life or JOB. The only reason people post these things are because their OWN life sucks...DRAMA! Let the bitterness go and move on.

I don't give one damn about the f*cking around in that so called 'office'. My concern is all about the undertrained, arrogant, unqualified, ignorant, cowardly, useless MSHA inspectors who daily cause families to go without basic needs.

MSHA is worse than the corrupt politicians around Pike County. They all just do for themselves and
'to hell' with the common working man and woman.

You all have seen the reports of their cowardly failures and the men who died slow agonizing deaths...trapped underground because of them.

Think "CRANDALL CANYON"
Think "SAGO"

Think about your miner who may someday need to be brought out of a hole in the ground.

Pray to GOD that those MSHA cowards don't get there to stand in front of your miner's friends and say "STAND BACK, I AM NOW IN CHARGE".

Your miner will die!!

You are an idiot...plain and simple. I'd hate to think of the lives that would have been lost without regulations.

Here are MY facts...Where are yours?

---------

Msha's own reveiw says MSHA sucks. Read their own report and tell me how great the incompetent inspectors really are.

.Persons who could have contributed significantly to the initial ground control
evaluations after the August 6th bounce were either not assigned to the rescue
effort or were delayed in their arrival
• The MSHA person-in-charge of the rescue operation was not clearly identified
• The MSHA person-in-charge of the rescue operation did not focus his attention
solely on the rescue effort, as much of his time was consumed by conducting
and/or attending family and media briefings
• MSHA failed to establish protocol for conducting regular formal briefings and
debriefings
• The person-in-charge created an environment that hindered open
communications with the rescue workers
• MSHA failed to ensure secure communications between the surface and
underground
• MSHA failed to obtain all information pertinent to the protective support system
used during the rescue operation
• MSHA improperly permitted media representatives and family members to
enter the rescue area, and allowed an unlimited number of persons underground
during the rescue operation
• MSHA failed to follow established mine rescue protocol at all times at the
Crandall Canyon Mine
• The limits of MSHA’s authority, responsibilities, and liabilities under the
provisions of § 103(k) or § 103(j) of the 1977 Mine Act have never been fully
defined
• MSHA failed to conduct a formal Risk versus Value analysis during the
underground rescue effort
• MSHA failed to maintain its mine emergency equipment up-to-date and in good
repair
• MSHA failed to comply with the provisions of the MINER Act by not acting as
the primary source of information to the families of the trapped miners
• MSHA failed to always provide clear and accurate information regarding the
mine accident to the families, and did not correct or contradict misleading or
incomplete information presented by the operator
• MSHA failed to comply with the provisions of the MINER Act by not acting as
the primary source of information to the media and the public
• MSHA failed to always provide clear and accurate information regarding the
mine accident to the media, and did not correct or contradict misleading or
incomplete information presented by the operator
• MSHA failed to provide adequate training in mine emergency procedures for
personnel required to respond to a mine emergency

I CARE if people are NOT DOING THEIR JOB because they spend all their time chasing the opposite sex. The miners rely on MSHA to keep coal operators honest. Some times MSHA may get carried away with their power and abuse it, but the job they do is very important. While they are on the clock, they need to focus on the safety of coal miners...nothing else. They can do their courting on their own time. This comes from someone who has worked for plenty of years paying taxes and is still paying them.

I spend a lot of time around the mines as a consultant and see all the anti-MSHA slogans on the vehicles of the workers...it's a shame they are now despised by the very ones they are supposed to protect. Something bad has happened to that agency and their leadership.

I have seen that at many mines and even parking lots around town.

Some kind of regulatory agency was needed back in the sixties and before, but it has grown so huge from being force fed tax dollars, that it's now a pariah. Real working miners are more than happy to talk about their total disgust when one of them is not around.

I fully understand Straight Eight, and his utter disdain for MSHA.

I'll say it for him and all other underground coal miners. I've seen it on here before. "Please GOD...If I or any of my family or friends are ever trapped underground...do whatever is necessary to keep MSHA people far away from us till our rescue is completed by qualified and caring coal mine professionals.."

You are totally clueless. No one has said anything about letting the mine operator run a mine any way he wants. Are you also so stupid you don't know that the state has books of laws and much more qualified inspectors? Are you a damn tax eater too? The taxpayers are being ripped off by redundancy and MSHA is the fattest recipient.

Upper Big Branch mine was on a ventilation plan mandated by the unqualified idiots of MSHA. Massey had a suit against them to allow the use of their own much safer plan. MSHA most likely killed all those men through arrogance and ignorance.
