Didn't feel a thing here. But we do live at the top of a very big hill, so I don't know if that had anything to do with it. Wonder if any aftershocks will rattle our bones today? You never know really.

I'm not overly concerned. We've got our supplies ready here in case we loose power, etc. A stash of drinking water and food is already put back and has been, just in case. That's what "prepping" is all about, folks. That's what it's all about....

This quake caused ripples in the Big Sandy River. Pure luck I was lookin' at it when it hit.

Anyone know the magnitude?

4.3, I just read in the real-time map. Centered 13km west of Whitesburg, KY.

It was .7 miles under the surface. Pretty shallow for an earthquake. Probably a good thing.

My lopsided shack is a few more degrees on the lop-side now. It shook pretty hard, and I am many miles away from whitesburg.

I demand government help....my shack is at least 1/4 more lop-sided thanks to the great quake of eastern Ky.....This day will live in infamy. Coal miners all across the eastern part of the state just crapped their drawers.

I'm sorry, Imposter. I hope none of your belongings are damaged badly. But we seriously didn't feel a single rattle here and I was sitting on the deck beforehand and had just come in to get another cup o'java, check on dinner in the oven, check emails, etc. Had no idea one had even occurred until I logged onto Topix, actually.

(And the "eyeball"? I just wanted a change... I do that once in a great while, hehe).

I hope there isn't an aftershock man. My little lopsided shack is on the verge of sliding over the hill already. An old rock wall on my "estate" now has a crack running from bottom to top. It has sat there for over a hundred years without a crack, until today.

I'm very glad to hear that your pictures didn't get broken.

I'm also glad you're also alright, as I assume everyone else is too. I hope there were no injuries anywhere. No local news broadcasts until later the evening, so we'll see I suppose.

Someone on another thread said they were down in the banks of the Big Sandy when it hit and they saw odd waves go across the the surface of the river...

Happily, the atmosphere starts to lighten today, leading to a much more comfortable time. You'll also find it easy to get on well with other people, which will come as a big relief. You may even be able to make amends for what happened yesterday and reach some sort of agreement at long last. If you're going to a social event you'll have a really good time.
