why is it that people are so resentful of doctors who take cash for their services? why don't people feel the same way about all the lawyers you take only cash? if I'm not mistaken, they usually ask for pretty hefty retainer fees anywhere from 3 to 5 thousand dollars.
well, i guess, because people expect a lawyer to be about money, most law abiding citizens never need a lawyer except maybe for a will, or some other important documents, unless they get sued for something
and they understand that there is no LAWYER INSURANCE
but, doctors are supposed to take an oath to treat the sick
first, do no harm
and if they only take cash, then they are harming the poor sick people who need help and cant afford to pay for it
i understand that doctors have to earn a living too
but if they are only taking cash, it makes it seem they have no real desire to heal the sick
they are only about healing their own wallets
if its for narcotics only, ok, i think most of those do it so they dont have to explain to insurance companies.....if they accept insurance, then they dont accept medicaid, that is like saying, hey, we hate poor people, go off someplace and die
unlike lawyers, most people at some times in their lives will NEED a doctor beyond their control

after the dr sells you the perscription you have to hire the lawyer to get your druggie butt out of jail because when you run out of pills you are out stealing to get more

not everyone who goes to a doctor and gets pain medicine sells them, not everyone who goes to a doctor and gets pain medicine snorts, shoots or abuses them...not everyone who takes pain medicine, also takes nerve medicine....and not everyone who gets pain medicine is a theif, liar, pill ho or dope fiend, some of US, myself included, have pain and take our medicine as the doctor prescribes in order to help alleviate the pain
i could be called any time of night for a pill check, or a piss test and i would have no fear....doctors should be trained, and most can, spot a drug seeker from a legitimate patient...but money is much more important to most of them than morals

Why do you think that many doctors are referring patients with "chronic pain" to pain treatment clinics? They do have morals and don't want to have to deal with the drug seeking patients.

My concern would be with those physicians that are running these pain clinics with their cash only policy. You know cash doesn't leave any kind of paper trail.

You ever take the time to stop and think that just maybe coal mining might play a little role in so many being broken down and in pain. Just so you know it is a very hard and dangerous job. I have personally witnessed 4 people being injured in one work week. All of which were serious.

There are a lot of people here taking pain pills that have never seen the inside of a mine. More than likely it is simply the mindset that if you have pain you take a pill.

Yes, but there are also a lot of folks who have seen the inside of a mine. Saw it and worked in it for years.

doctors have worked hard to be what they are so why shouldn't they be allowed to expect cash payment for their services? Why do people expect that doctors work for very little compensation and why do people feel they are entitled to free healthcare? If a doctor is taking care of the poor and uninsured (which is about 60-80% of the general population) then how are they supposed to make a living? On top of that they pay huge malpractice insurance premiums so lawyers and patients can get rich with frivolous lawsuits. Wherre is the fairness in that? Why aren't lawyers required to pay malpractice insurance? Does that mean they are always right and never make mistakes?

There is a pretty easy answer to your question. Many of our legislators have been lawyers. Don't think that they are ever going to support tort reform or have to buy insurance. They sure aren't going to pass any laws that might affect themselves negatively.

of course not, lawyers who became legislators are the scum of this earth? Few people understand that the reason our healthcare system is broken is because the costs were driven up by lawyers. Doctors order many tests to protect themselves from lawsuits while paying high malpractice premiums to support the frivolous lawsuits encoraged by lawyers. I've recently seen a commercial from lawyers that advocate suing for the radiation exposure from CT scans which means they now want to sue a doctor for ordering a harmeless diagnostic test that is crucial for medical decision making. When will this madness end?

The madness will never end, especially with places like the supposed nations finest in business and half as$ treating people. Sending them home with broken limbs and saying everything is just fine, then calling back in a couple days to say they missed the fact that something was broken. Also doing surgeries that they don't have the support staff to handle and letting people lay there and die. A good first aid station is about the best it should be used for.

Greedy Dr wrote:
<quoted text>.........EXACTLY!! The Dr.Willis I am talking about has an office at the Uniplex Bldg. in downtown Pikeville. The Uniplex bldg. is really a nice bldg. But now as soon as you walk in all you see is spaced out people lined up ready to get in to get their pills..... Dr. Shane Hensley has a sign up on his door that says WE DO NOT HAVE CHANGE PLEASE DON'T ASK! So see Dr. Willis only takes exact change. I'm sure that all the other people that have to share that building are so annoyed. Seems like he should have took some notes when Shafer and Hoover went down, but instead he took in all of their leftovers. Money and greed can take over anyone it can also make you get in very, very big trouble!
the part about people being lined up is a complete "LIE" U walk into the building and u hardly seen anyone sitting in the lobby nor in the waiting room. and he IS NOT LIKE DR. HOOVER. she saw anywhere from 200-300 patients a day and he only sees about 25-50 patients a day or even less. Seems like u need to get your FACTS straight..yea, i am a patient there and usually when i go for my appointment i am the only one there and at hoover's and shafer's there were usually always 100 people there at any given time. and for your information he drug test and hoover did not. When he saw me he did check me out very well and actually had me do a MRI so he would know what was going on with my health condition. He may write meds, but u have to really have something wrong with u before u get anything. he also writes different meds for different people and hoover/shafer wrote the same things to every patient. SO I THINK SOME PEOPLE NEED TO LEAVE YOUR NOSE WHERE IT BELONGS "ON YOUR FACE"

He is now making patients come in every 2 weeks, so that he can collect $175.00 every 2 weeks he writes out half of the medication so that you will have to come back. Also, is charging patients $35.00 for a drug test another rip off that is supposed to be included in the visit..........He is robbing these poor people, he needs to go, but the way it is looking he will be that next one to be brought down just like shafer and hoover because he took all their patients. This is nothing but a pill mill!!!!!!! Drug Unite you need to check this place out, no different than shfer or hoover!!!!!
the only reason he makes some people come every two weeks is because they have FAILED a drug test. and if u fail a drug a test it is your fault because u have either done something u weren't prescribed or didn't take your meds right.

I AGREE WITH U 100%..u can't do anything about a DR that is doing things right and not going overboard with the meds. and there are people that do need the meds because they are in true pain. some do go there just to get meds, but if he know they don't need them then he won't write them.

I have known Henrietta for years she is the best person ever and no she is not into money she truly loves Judge Mullins and they are happy together and NO Dr. Willis is not running a pill mill he is a very good Dr. and is very through and knowledgeable and he drug tests his patients all the time I know this for a fact and cuts off patients off all the time if they are not doing their medicine as prescribed you have to have MRIs and stuff truly wrong with you thats why its called Pain Management Dr. Willis is a good Dr. and Henrietta is a very good person so lay off all these lies you must have failed your drug test and got cut off Dr. Willis is a very fine Dr. and only trys to help people with their pain and NO it is definately not a pill mill so get a life and get over it sorry not trying to offend anyone just telling the truth
for some of these people that keep going on about how bad Dr. Willis is mad because they can't get enough meds to do themselves. They seem to be so INTERESTED for some reason. Oh, let me guess, they are concerned because of the bad rap pikeville will get, but it doesn't need a dr to give it a bad rap. just think about all the lawyers, law enforcement and other people that do drugs, but nothing is ever said about them.

You always got a few idiots who are just looking for something to whine and cry about. Topix is choke full of them. A doctor just doing what he is supposed to and they look for something to whine about. Of course some people get prescribed pain meds, he is a doctor and it just happens that is a very big reason for people to see one.
