I recently purchased a living room suite from Big Sandy for almost 2700.00. It is a Berkline which is supposed to be 1 of the best. It already has buttons popping off and recliners that doesn't work. I have called them 4 times already for repairs since it has a 5 year warranty and I ahve only had it about 4 months. I still am yet to receive a response. People need to spend there money elsewhere. They will not stand behind what they sale!!!!

I would call the main company and also send them a letter and explain the situation. Just give them the facts; no hysteria or they won't take you as seriously. Let them know that this issue needs to be resolved or you expect full refund of your money.
They need to stand behind products they sell; especially when they probably convinced you to buy an extended warranty. If we lived in a city you could report them to the Better Business Bureau; but guess we don't have one here.

Oh, you could also call or email the Berkline company and let them know that the Superstore is not responding to the warranty that Berkline has. I imagine that they do not want their products being sold at a store that makes them look bad.

I bought several things from big sandy, every one of which has either broken down or quite working within 2 and a half years. One couch broke down within 3 months of buying it. it was replaced without very many problems. but just recently another has broken down, springs poking through the fabric and snapping, and they almost never responded to our phonecalls. they will pretend you have no warranty and ignore you hoping that you will forget about it. you have to keep on to them and go over their heads to get anything done. find the phone number for the Big Sandy Furniture in Chesapeke OH, they are over the pikeville outlet.

If it is financed. Do what I done and take it back to the store if you have the means to do so and set it off preferably in the store front and tell them there it is and when they get it fixed or are ready to give you a new one to bring it to you otherwise you are going to stop payments, report them to the BBB and go elsewhere and find another outfit. When I did this they gave me a new one before I left the store.

If it is financed already, the Superstore already has their money from the finance company. If you take it back to them, they really wouldn't care because you are returning something they would probably just resell and make double the money on the same item. The finance company has nothing to do with the Superstore. They will just come after you for not paying for the item. They could careless what you have done with items, they just want their money and will do what they have to to get it. Not a good idea to ruin your credit for them.

Just my two cents.

Not necessarily, If you claim a breech of contract, which it is, they are at fault and will have to pay back the finance company. And when this is proven it won't go against your credit.

My mom brought a Stove and Refrigerator, from Big Sandy and she hasn't had it for 2 years and the stove had to be repaired and the plastic door shelves and the plastic around the glass shelves in the frige have shattered. They keep giving her a repair date on the frige, but never show up.

The sad part is I brought a stove, frige, dishwasher, and freezer at Lowes for the same price as she paid at Big Sandy. And I haven't had a problem with any of mind (and I have a 5 yr old thats very rough on things).

My sister bought a desk from them and the doors fell off almost immediately after purchase. Also, my friend bought a dinette set from them and the chair legs were so uneven you couldn't even sit in them properly without wobbling. Their stuff is JUNK!!!!

My husbands co-worker bought a living room suite and the thing fell apart in three months....he complained they exchanged it for him but he's still unhappy with the quality of the furniture...We buy from Childress Furniture in Grundy VA....Top quality furniture, name brands (Berkline, Broyhill, Lay Z Boy, Rowe etc.), payment plans and we have had no problem with our furniture...Childress Furniture is locally owned with nice, friendly, helpful people....we just purchased our second living room suite...the first a Lay Z Boy lasted 14 years...the last we bought has steel frame and has a 20 year warranty..

well i have purchased several items from big sandy and love all of them....it is not the company sometimes it is just the product. I'm sure if you contact the manager there they will be more than happy to get you help. If that doesn't work you can call the corporate office and they will assist you with service claims. you can even report your on claims online, this is very nice and you can do it at your convience from your own home. I have done a couple and they respond within a couple days, this is very good service. I will shop there again, I love their store. Justg contact them or go to website and email your service claim, they will help you.

I have contacted them numerous times even since my first post with no response. I also sent in an online claim and still no response. I contacted Berkline and received the following email...

Good Morning,
We have received your email in our office, explaining the problem you are experiencing with your Berkline Furniture. We are never happy to hear of an unhappy consumer. As stated in our Limited Warranty to receive the benefits of our warranty, you must please contact the authorized dealer from whom you made your purchase. All service and returns must be done through them

Thank you
Tammy Stewart

Berkline LLC

I contacted corporate yesterday and was told that someone would call me back by Monday, so lets wait and see. This is the last time I purchase from Big Sandy or from Berkline!
