I don't think so. You can buy them all the junk food you want. If this law passes you will just not be doing that with government money; the same government money that pays for their skyrocketing health care costs partially due to the bad food their parents give them.<quoted text>Yeah it is, your basically giving the government the power to raise your kids when you allow them to make laws like this. You will just have to do it with money you may earn. People who work daily to make a living have to budget and make choices about where they will spend their money. We all need to learn to budget our time and money and quit thinking that we are entitled to anything. Cooking in the kitchen with your children is fun and can be a valuable learning experience for them too.
And as far as the birthday cake remark. I have a neighbor and the mother has always made the birthday cakes for each of her children. No, I don't mean the gobs of crisco frosting type of cake; but the cake of their choice that the whole family can eat and enjoy. It actually means more when their Mom spends the time and energy to do this for her children. And, a new trend for children's parties is cupcakes or cake pops, both easy to make and less mess for the children.
