ok, so just like most on here I have had an occasional rant or gripe..this post is all positive. I visited Ace Hardware today for the first time and was very pleased wow what a nice selection of everything! people were walking up to me asking me if I needed help...you just don't see that anymore. it looked like they carried some of everything including some lumber. as I made my purchase and was walking out...I had one passing thought...lowes better step up their game..cause theres a new game in town! bravo ace!

I've stopped there a couple of times already and definitely plan to give them as much business as I can... It's a nice change from the whole Lowe's experience. Who knew that someone actually attempting to help you get what you're looking for would be possible in Pikeville? ;-)

Welcome to the real hometown hardware store experience. One of the managers opened the store back up to sell me some worm meds for my dog. No one else work do something like that. They actually will listen to you and care about your problems. Thanks for giving us another option or might I say a better option.

Agreed. I was in there for the first time last week myself. A lot of merchandise and VERY friendly employees. Nice store.

One thing kills me about customers. If you have to wait for more than 2 minutes, your complaint is "no one there to help me!". Other customers are just as important, and if they are being helped, it isn't like someone is going to split in two to help you. A bit of advice, have a little patience, or even download their product locator app onto your smartphone and use that to help you find what you are looking for. I use it, nice app, puts you right at the merchandise most of the time.

Download whose app? Lowes? It is very difficult to find anyone there to help you because they don't seem to hire enough help.

Many of us don't have I-phones or data plans with our phone service. Besides needing assistance in a store isn't always about simply locating a product.Good customer service is still important to a business.

the service is so terrible at lowes that even the apps don't work! that's probably the only lumber store in the nation where you can call and ask..."do you have that product in stock before I drive down there?" "yep we do"....you drive down....been out of stock of that item for over a week...so yeah, we need a better lumber/hardware store!
