It was reported on the news today that WalMart is changing its benefits plan. Previously the company had been criticized for lack of benefits so they are now requiring part time people to work at least 25 hours a week to qualify. Apparently there are going to be changes in benefits for full time employees too. Smokers are being targeted too.

I guess WalMart just isn't making enough money. Just watch all those part time people now being cut to less than 25 hours per week.

Walmart is like any any other business. Either they make a viable profit, or they go belly up. Whether a local business that employs three people or a multi-national conglomerate that employs thousands, the basic principal is the same. Criticizing Walmart for trying to maintain its competitive edge shows the ignorance of those that have no understanding of the world of business and all that it entails....

WalMart posted a profit of 6 billion in Feb. 2011. I don't think that there is much chance of them going belly up. Sam Walton was a smart man; but he was not greedy.

Walmart has treated their employees poorly for years. After Mr. Walton died the family got greedy. I don't shop Walmart very much for just because of how they treat their employees.

Its called increase the profit margin as much as possible. Wal-mart doesnt care about employees they care about their major stock holders.
