Republican Presidents are well known for losing Wars.

Nixon surrendered to north Viet Nam

Eisenhower lost in Korea.

Bush 1 gave up in Iraq.

Bush 2 lost Iraq and Afghanistan

Bush 2 also lost on 911.

It depends on how you define "win" and "lose".

If you use the outcome of World War II as the definition of "win" as most people do, then the USA has a generally poor record. It really won only one war, World War II. The Spanish American War comes the next closest to a "win" because Spain gave in to American terms. Spain was far from defeated as a nation as German and Japan were, however. No US soldier ever set foot in Spain. The Mexican War also came close, but it too was settled by a compromise peace. OK, so the Mexican got the short end of the stick, but it was still a negotiated compromise. World War 1 was a draw on the battlefield. The Germans lost at the Paris Peace Conference in 1919. They never surrendered on the battlefield. The Civil War was a battlefield win for the North, but then it promptly lost the battle of Reconstruction.

Goin further back, the French navy won the American Revolution in battle. Without it Yorktown would never have happened. By any objectived measure the USA lost the War of 1812.

So, when you get right down to it, the Republicans have not done any better or any worse than anyone else except in the case of World War II. All American wars, like most European wars up until 1945, ended in messy compromises with the enemy.

I am no fan or Obama, but he did not "lose Iraq". About the only thing that the USA can do in the case of Afghanistan is "declare victory and go home" just like every other Western power that has tried to conquer the place from Alexander the Great on. British tried for several decades, never got the job done. The Russians tried - with methods far more brutal than any the USA is apt to ever use - and eventually called it quits. About the best that can be done is contain it.

Bush protected Bin Laden

Attacked the 2 wrong Countries

Said Iraq would be a florishing Democracy

Said we would be welcomed in the Streets of Baghdad with Flowers

Said the Iraqi Oil would pay for all of the Restoration

You cannot fairly compare victory in World War II to Korea, Vietnam, or any other war since 1945 - or before forf that matter.

World War II was a uniqie set of circumstances that had never existed before and that have not existed since. First, the USA was the world's greatest industrial and economic power. It was safe from direct attack by the enemy. There was also the matter of the evil of Nazi Germany being so absolute that a negotiated peace with it was unthinkable. At the end the USA had a monopoly on nuclear weapons.

The USSR got the atomic bomb in 1950. That changed the rules of the game. Thinking people realized that there could be no military victory in a future war - only mutually assured destruction of all civilization. It was thought that all the USA had to do was wait long enough and the USSR would collapse. The objective in Korea was containment, not rollback or "victory" in the WWII sense. Harry Truman (a Democrat) acted on that premise when he sacked Gen. MacArthur, a somewhat loose cannon military commander who wanted to turn Korea into World War 3. Eisenhower followed that policy to the letter.

The same held true in Vietnam. Nobody dared risk World War 3 by pushing for an empty "victory" over North Vietnam. Kennedy, Johnson, and Nixon all followed the strategy laid down in NSA68 right after World War II.

That strategy eventually did lead to what its architects considered an American victory in the Cold War. The USSR collapsed and is no more. And, I remind you, it happened under an American president, Ronald Reagan.

The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan were the latest version of the old colonialist "police actions" that the USA mounted against the Barbary States, Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, Mexico, and a dozen other places now forgotten in the 19th and early 20th centuries.

For anybody that is really interested in learning about the grand strategic concept that governed the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, I recommend reading this book:

Max Boot, THE SAVAGE WARS OF PEACE, SMALL WARS AND THE RISE OF AMERICAN POWER (New York: Basic Books, 2002).

The war in Afghanistan and the hunt for Osama Bin Ladin was almost a replay of the American incursion into Mexico in pursuit of Pancho Villa.

I doubt that is is so much a matter of "drunk so much of the liberal KoolAid" is that he is just an obnoxious member of the Idoicracy. Thinking, intelligent "liberals" pretty much agree with what I wrote.
