It costs $350.00 to enroll which includes your kit. The kit has every basic thing you will need! We have a wonderful and very talented instuctor Mrs. Akers and Mrs. Stumbo!! It is a great college and the girls that go there are very nice and talented!!1

Well I attended EKBC and graduated in 2003, couple months later I was contacted by a very high end salon in Lexington after someone that I had done their hair while at EKBC had apparently complimented my work to the owner of Planet Salon. So I moved and ended up in a national magazine in 2004 with the salon, and when I left Planet Salon (ownership changed),I left as an Artistic Director, the highest level stylist in the salon world. Now it seems to me like if EKBC was such a bad school non of this would have been possible for me. It is what u put into it, if u enroll then apparently u are an adult and if u dont want to learn and don't give a shit then u wont learn anything! The owner and instructor Mrs. Akers is an amazing women whom I became friends with right away and I still keep in touch with! So don't be doggin the school just cause u musta went there and couldnt "cut it" at a salon, it does take a lil bit of talent to be a hair stylist too ya know :)

I also want to attend this school but can't seem to find any information on it. What do people think about this school? Who much is it to attend? Do salons hire people from this school?

I attended. And you need 1800 hours, which averages to 12-14 months. It does not offer financial aid, but if you have any sort of medical problems, you can check into vocational rehab, I can give you the number if you'd like. Ou pay $433 your first month.$333 is your payment,$100 fee for your enrollment, and an extra $15 for your license. Ever month after you'll pay just the $333 until you pay off $4,100. You can get a job through managers at nearby salons coming into the school and talking to the girls ready to graduate. Also the hours are Monday-Friday 8:30-5.
I'll be glad to answer any other questions you have too.

People said that they don't give you a good education. Is that true?

I can't really find much info on this school. It seems really cheap compared to other schools and I find that weird. Is the education up to par? I've been thinking about going to cosmetology school and would like to go to this school but am looking for more info on it. Do they provide you with a kit? Do you get a good education like the other schools? How many people will be in my class? Any info will help. Thank you

Your $100 registration fee that you pay when you start covers your kit and book. What you learn is entirely up to you. If you want to learn, ten the teacher will help you as much as possible, and you can watch the other students and learn a lot from them. You can start at anytime, usually their is about 20 people that are attending. So you all will have class together. I got a ton of practice, and enjoyed going there.

So you're saying that you pretty much teach yourself? That school sounds like a complete joke.

I am a current student there and I love it. U can go and pay 10,000 more for the same degree if u like but state board testing is same no matter where u go to school in ky. Since I have been there everyone had passed and I don't know about the past but there are very talented people there now. There is also a jr. Instructor there to help with anything we need. If ur serious about going and not just trying to trash the place, drive down there and talk to mrs. Akers and get the information for urself.

You can have anything done there that you'd have done in a regular beauty shop.
Haircuts are $6 I can't recall the other prices though. You'd have to call and check.
