Alright, I've heard that Jacob and Melody's children have both been diagnosed with some serious illness. Everybody is talking about it, but nobody I know actually knows what is wrong. What do these boys have? Is this something that we can help with? Do they need kidneys? blood? what? Everybody is "praying" for these kids, but nobody is actually able to tell me what is wrong. I'm an old friend of their parents and want to help, if I can.

They have Adrenoluekodystrophy ( may be a misspelling) and from what I understand of the disease, it is terminal . So that means unfortunately for the lil guys and jacob and melody nothing can be done except giving them support

im not gonna bash "old friend" but for real why would u get on here and start a post about something soo serious??!!! if u was/are such an "old friend" its called call them and and ask how they are doing. and if there is anything u could do to help them. they are going thru a rough time right now. no parent or baby should be going thru. let them be and if u was an "old friend" then u would know. my goodness what is this world coming to when ppl get online and post everyones serious personal life. JACOB AND MEL PLZ DONT PAY ATTENTION TO THIS STUPID SITE..AND MAY GOD WATCH OVER YOU GUYS AND YOUR PRECIOUS BOYS!!!!

Bone marrow transplant can cure the disorder but will not reverse damage that is already done. Not everyone Is a candidate for bmt and there are alot of risks. Please pray for them. They have a lot of hard decisions to make.

Just someone get off your high horse. They simply asked a frigging question. As far as putting it out on the Internet, it is all over facebook so you probably need to go on their and berate everyone who shared some information about it on there as well.

You are the one of the people who makes topix the cesspool it is. This person said nothing defamatory about anyone, simply asked a damn question. Yet here you come and begin berating them like they were laughing at the situation.

Jacob and melody were in school at least 10 yrs ago, you don't think it is possible that friends they may have had back then have lost contact ? How do you call someone if you don't know their number ?

It is not very easy to call someone out of the blue if you haven't spoken for many years, let alone if they are going through an extremely hard situation.

Thank you for the information. I meant absolutely no harm to the Moore family. Indeed, I have not spoken directly to them in a while, other than a nod and wave a few times in completely random places in town.

@justsomeone~ Your "not bashing" is really rather harsh. It's kind of hard to roll down the window and say, "Hey, do you mind yelling out the name of the disease your precious babies have? I've got a spare pint of blood if that will help!" Seriously, chill. This forum could indeed be an uplifting place if angry people like yourself would be a little less inflammatory. You added absolutely nothing to the conversation, other than drawing attention to yourself.

My heart aches for these children. I have children myself and I can imagine no greater pain than what Jacob and Melody are experiencing. I will pray for this family. As "cousin" stated, a bone marrow transplant may help. I pray for wisdom for the parents. I pray they receive 100% support from everyone else for whatever decisions they make. If they decide to try for a transplant, I pray they are overwhelmed by people willing to be tested for a match. I pray for healing of those babies, whether directly from above or through human hands guided from above. I pray "justsomeone" is able to remove that corncob that seems to be stuck midway up his/her anal sphincter. ;)(God has a sense of humor too)

sorry if i did come off as "rude" or whatever. my apologize to "old friend". but if u would read some of the other topixs on here most of the time ppl do start bashing whoever the topix is about. i know that they already have enough on the shoulders right now, actually more than any parent should have. and thank you hooked on phonics for informing us on what it was called. and i wasnt aware the ppl was on faceboo talking bout them either. but like i said i mainly wanted to say sorry to "old friend",and to anyone else i may have upset by my first comment. may God watch over the Moore family as they go through this hard time in their life.

oh btw i dont have a horse nor a corncob :)

I don't think anyone meant Any harm by starting this post, I too have been ask to pray and i also have fbook and have seen posts asking pray for the moore family, I know Jack moore and use to attend his church in jasper before he was called to another church!!! He would always go on and on about his grandson's...So i understand why some people would like too know what is going on with these little boys, I too wanted to know! So if this post is true about the illness...it is very very sad that BOTH boys have this serious illness, and will continue to pray and pray for this whole family!!!

Its to late for the oldest brother to have the bone marrow but they caught it intime for the youngest. This ADL diseases cause brain damage. The oldest had already lost his sight and now its effecting his speech and his walking. And yes its terminal
