I am glad Brown lost. Deal was already done. He would have been blamed for it. Now why hasn't Piggott gotten out of this contract like the other cities? Follow the "MONEY"

We elected two new councilmen last election, kicking out the old ones. The other two councilmen are up for re-election this November, and those are the two who have served the longest.
Anyone who is not registered to vote needs to drop by the courthouse and register, it dosen't cost anything.

Rumor is that Brian Haley may have found a loophole in the contract. Something to do with the amount of usage or something like that. Been awhile since heard this. But what is the reason that John Lingle acting as Piggott City Attorney isn't looking for a loophole, etc. to get the City of Piggott out of this contract. Says he has washed his hands of this matter. Why is he not working on this problem. And if the other cities are getting out of this contract, why aren't the mayor , city councilmen and others consulting with the other cities to see what they did to get out of this contract? What is John Lingle paid to do? Does anyone know the names of the other cities that have gotten out of this contract? Please share them if you do. Thanks.

Well, it seems that Darling cut a deal with our idiots in charge and got their electric rate lowered....so get ready for all of our to go up.

Remember...if you want to figure out what they are charging you, just simply take the amount you are being charged on both lines at the top for electric and divide it by the amount of kilowatt hours you used...that will give you your per kilowatt hour charge.

If you do this each and every month you can see when the crooks up on the ivory thrones try to sneak another increase in on you.

Remember...they may lie to your face, but MATH never lies...do it yourself and see for yourself.

Also remember, the Arkansas average kilowatt per hour cost is 9 cents. The national average is 12 cents...we pay more than both of those!!!!

we pay just shy of 14 cents per kilowatt hour!!!!

Everyone make sure to pay your electric bills with unrolled pennies from now on...

They want to screw us over...well, lets screw them over...lets waste their entire day by having to count millions of damned pennies.

And they have to take them too...it is legal tender currency...if they refuse the bill is null and void!!!

well!that would be a way to do it !but you would'nt be getting back at the ones who made this happen!the ladies who work up there would have to do the counting and they just work there!it's a job people,so you would only make their job harder!just saying!and it won't solve the real problem!

true, but I look at it this way....if I worked for someone that I knew was screwing people over and I was ok with that, then I deserve whatever comes my way.

I understand that jobs are hard to come by...especially around this area thanks to the idiot leaders we have, but sometimes morals and honor are more important, especially when it effects elderly and disabled people.

Besides, I guarantee you that the ones in charge up there will do something to make it easier on those women at the counter which is why i want to do it...right now those women at the counter are basically the only ones having to hear about it every time someone pays their bill....but if the ones in charge are basically forced to get involved with the counter then they hear about it as well.

If they have any honor at all they arent going to make those women count all those pennies by themselves, and if they do...well, then they are bigger scumbags then I thought.

the matter of the fact is!I am one of the elderly who lives off 800.00 a month income and when a 415.00 electric bill comes in!well it makes me think!what will I do I have to have my electric to breathe,if I cant breathe I won't have to worry about anything any more,so I will just have to eat less and do without my medicienes for awhile and hopefully I can make it thru this,Thank the Good Lord I worked all my life and have my home payed for.if I had rent to pay I would just have to give up my Independance and go into a nursing facility, and let my social security and the government take careof me!OMG WHAT A NIGHTMARE!NO WAY I Will make it with less til I can do better!have you noticed there are empty houses in Piggott now people are moveing away!saddddddddddddddd

To see our towns electric rates at an acceptable reasonable rate for the coming summer months!!! I know my winter rates are NOT very acceptable or reasonable and at the first opportunity I get to move from this area I'm GONE unless something gets straightened out. All this is BS and they know it and try to give that excuse again the bills got lost in mail for this month. My heating (gas), bill is lower than my electric is and I just had my home full insulated before the end of summer and my electric bills were still thru the roof. I really like small town living but,I can't afford it when the ones who are in charge SCREW UP and the Towns People have to Pay for Their MISTAKES!!!

Well I just couldn't understand what all the fuss was about high electric bills well they made it to our house. I am still in shock my bill doubled in one month and there is still just 2 living here, no changes what so ever. I am going to start writing down my usage and see if they match up, for when I see one of the meter readers standing in the street for over 35 mins. talking to a person while he was to be doing a job, then never saw him come come to our house makes me wonder if they are guessing at usage, believe it has happen before.
