SPENDING 2.5 MILLION TO GET $350,000 FROM THE STATE IS STUPID, PEOPLE.

There is no reason to spend taxpayer money for vo-tech if the schools just partner with local businesses with intern programs, there is NO NEED FOR NEW FACILITIES, TEACHERS, BENEFITS, RETIREMENT, MEDICAL, TENURE, OVERHEAD, ETC ETC....

There is no end to the voracious appetite for money, power, and new programs in this county school system. First it was a new stadium, now it's a whole new complex of buildings. Stupid is as stupid does, at least in this school district...

awesome idea...will it be open for enrollment from local school districts... since Adams county has little to none vocational educational programs...thanks Gettysburg for looking after the needs of all students.

^Berm, this program has been in effect for years, I attended it between 2005 and 2007. They're just talking about a new building for the same program. It's open to Fairfield, New Oxford, Littlestown and Gettysburg junior and senior high school students.

It amazes me that everytime you turn around the school board is having to cut programs or people because there is not enough money in the budget, yet they can find millions for projects that we could do without. I have long believed that no matter how high our taxes go, the school board will always come up short, because they cannot seem to grasp the concept that "if you don't have it, don't spend it". As a taxpayer, I am forced to live with that concept. Why can't we find school board members and commissioners that can understand the concept?

I might also add that I tried to post the same thing at Gettysburg Times website twice and twice they denied the post. Perhaps, Gettysburg Times should concentrate more on being a NEWSpaper, and less on censoring reader's opinions.

What I don't know understand is why taxpayers don't understand that If our teenagers get productive skills they can become productive taxpayers. More taxpayers means more taxes paid. Get it !
