This is ridiculous. Child rapist dont even get that. You can rape someone, and its a slap on the wrist, but if you grow a plant, your done for.

Was he the Pop of a Ma n' Pop grow? He got away with it for 5 years, so when he gets out he should still have quite a lot of money, if his buddies pay him back. Only 10 years, prison is just a cost of doing business.

There sure seems to be a difference in punishment for various crimes. If you are caught growing pot, 10 years. Yet, you molest a child or rape some one, you get 3 - 5 years and are considered to have some sort of mental issue.

Are to understand the punishment for lessor crimes compared to more serious ones.

The big Pharmaceutical companies and the CIA do not want people cutting into their profits.
If you do.
You will pay.
That is why he got more time than a
child molester or a rapist or even some murders.
It has nothing at all to do with what is better for society and our communities.

When will these dummies learn that the spilled diesel will get you every time. In reality he's not going to the can for growing weed but for polluting a stream. Practically every article about a huge pot bust has the words "spilled diesel"

Maybe we need some harsh laws about spilling diesel while getting greedy. I don't care so much people grow weed but I'm angry when they kill the woods and rivers while they're doing it.

Environmental Laws are in place. It is finding the one who is at fault and prosecuting them. And then after they have been prosecuted, they are found to have no money to pay.

So, in the end, who reallys pays for the clean-up?

What murderer or child molester do you know who got a light sentence in California? No murderer has been paroled in this state for years, and convicted molesters are sentenced to many years, often life.

Forget incarceration (sp?), too costly. Seize all assets and property and sell it to pay for clean up. They rape our environment and deliberately kill the wildlife there (bird feeders filled with poison so the birds can make no noise, and traps for animals left to chew off the leg to get free).

Growers are leeches. Eradicate them.

Funny you say that because when I grew buds in South Humboldt I used to love the sounds of the birds and to watch them fly around. I put out bird seed and a bird fountain to help them in times of scarecity. They also liked to eat the chicken food. You seem very upset about these "growers". Are they all the same or do they have individual qualities in your mind?

He only got ten years because it went Federal. If it would have stayed local he would have gotten three years at the most. Anyway, the Feds get involved when too much money is being made, of course without paying taxes. Making tax free millions will piss off the feds everytime. Homeboy got too flashy for his own good. Greed gotcha 10 years.

You're absolutely right. This guy is not a poster child representing peaceful mom & pot medical growers. Medical or not, he was not growing in moderation, but exactly the opposite: for greed! And yes, the feds (DEA) do not take lightly to tax free pot profiteering, it does piss them off and 10 years is their favorite number.

It should be legalized!!!! I guess not only Illinois politics are corrupt! I know of child molesters who got away with what they did for turning in a drug deal.
