Why are the property taxes in Williamston so high? I was trying to buy a home in the city limits, but found out that my property taxes would have added $500 a month to my mortgage. It is insane. To compare, I found a house in Simpsonville which is the same size house with 2 more acres of land, and is valued at more than the one in Williamston, my taxes would have been $130 a month.
