Is that why I see him in the ditch working along side his employees? He has done a better job than the last two morons, not to mention he has brought a little life into this town.At least he isn't trying to turn the town into a retirement village.

What he does on his own time is his own business.

He is a hard working man that isn't afraid to roll up his sleeves and get a job done. This community needs more men like that! I agree with 'wow', what he does on his time is his business.

I hear he shows up to meetings drunk as hell and many times closes them early due to him being too drunk to function. Not sure if it's true, just saying what I hear...

he is a decent person and does a good job. if he does have a problem concern and prayer is a better idea than posting him on this pathetic place.

Well just having concern does nothing...actually prayer wouldn't help either. If he has a problem, some sort of intervention would be best, before it hurts himself or someone else. Posting on here won't help either, I'll give you that. Unless, of course someone on here sees it and then initiates an intervention...

Although the Mayor has alot of power he doesn't have the power to get things done. With that being said, he can initate projects such as many other small communities. He has been told from the beginning to do something for the children around here so they don't get into trouble, it was his promise and it has yet to materialize. Make one wonder about this community. We need someone that will take charge and get things done for the children and the future of the comminity, be it the current mayor or a new mayor this community is dying.

There is a LOT to do around here for kids! Unfortunately for lazy parents, most of it requires you to do it too. There is hiking, biking, and fishing in some of the best areas the country has to offer. There is bowling, the drive-in, scouting, and some sports. Get out and do stuff. It's not the mayors responsibility to entertain kids that wouldn't appreciate what is provided for them anyway. There's lots of good healthy stuff to do...just get out and do it and quit expecting others to entertain your kids for you.

I don't have children, however in case you haven't noticed Piedmont is a very very low income city and not a single ounce of growth in the county. The children in this community need something to entertain them that isn't costly and still enjoyable. Look at Branson it was nothing and now it is huge.

There are alot of people including myself that would hate to see piedmont turn out like branson. There are ball fields, parks, the lake, tennis courts, places to play basketball,a drive-in,and a YOUTH center,so there are plenty of things to do around here that does not cost money. If thats not enough move to branson, were it's elbow to elbow, can't here the crickets,or peep frogs for the traffic, and everything cost's more.I like my little town just like it is.

People move here to get away from places like Branson! Why would you want to change anything about Piedmont to be like a big overcrowded city?! If you want the Branson lifestyle....I hear you can get boxes at the store so you can pack up and move there. Leave Piedmont alone!

well let's see we have a youth center, playgrounds, parks, not to mention brand spanking new batting cages, and a bowling alley. There is tons of stuff for kids to do. We got to have the funds as well to do anything around here not to mention the community could speak up at a meeting to ask him questions like this if your wondering what they are doing. Put yourself in his shoes I bet people would be talking and it's not as easy as you think it may be.

Think you misunderstood, I didn't say the Mayor was a bad guy, I'm saying whomever is in that position should take more interest in our community then has been taken.

We need something to keep the interest of these children that doesn't cost a bunch of money. Additionally, why would anyone NOT want to bring in additional tax money, and jobs for those who are getting state assistance because there are no sources of employment in Wayne county at all. Look around Wayne County is one of the largest counties in the state of Missouri and there is nothing in this county that is helping the ecomony, why because some people around here have the opinion that don't want to encourage our community to better not only itself but for the future of our children. Give that some thought

I think the mayor is doing whats best for the town if you dont like it then why did you vote for him? Before you run your mouth think about what your own actuon have done!

there is no way to end the welfare state called wayne county. there are many new people from other areas of the state and even the country that move here because this county is exempt from welfare reform. this new population segment is growing much quicker that your traditional wayne county families.
There is very little industry here because the workforce is generally unqualified and big companies consider this before moving business to a certain location. companies look for low turnover among employees, people that are easy to train, and people that work hard and show up to work on time.
I shutter to think of what the next few years will be like here with this current trend. what happens if the government says one day we don't have any money. what then? i don't want to be here if that happens....
the mayor is doing his best and like one commenter said he works along side his men much of the time and he does care about this place. that means a lot.

I totally agree with the way they are. Whom ever REALLY is, just for the record I didn't vote for anyone, additionally, you are the type of person I'm referring too. I'm guessing you did complete high school and actually learned something called morals, scruples and self respect.

MY ACTIONS? Oh please, grow up and learn how to take constructive opinions from others beside your self. If you had read the post it clearly stated, be it this mayor or another mayor somethings just need to change for the betterment of the community. I'm guessing you (Really) must be one of the state assisted people of this community other wise you wouldn't be so uptight. So I say to you REALLY, have a great eveining.

yeah but additional tax money will come out of everyone's pockets including the ones who get state assistance. I am on a fixed income and I just get by from one month to the next and some people just can't keep dishing out more money for additional taxes. As far as keeping children's interest goes the stuff I mentioned on the last post doesn't cost an arm and a leg. These kids take for granite for what we have in this small community and instead they should be thankful for what we have to offer them to do in this town.
