How ironic that the school mascots are a tiger and a panther - it's been quite the cat fight between grown men and women.

Living in Pickerington, I've seen the "Vote No" signs disappear as quickly as they go up. I think it's sad that anyone with so little respect would do such a thing. It's called freedom of speech. I along with many of my neighbors will be voting "NO". We will show our support at the polls. Voting "NO" will preserve Pickerington Families. I'm voting "NO" until concessions are made by teachers and administrators on salary and benefits. Not just a 2 year freeze which will need another Levy in 2 years to make up for all the pay increases. My "NO" vote is to preserve Pickerington families ability to pay increasing high energy cost and keep food on our tables. I choose to preserve our community as a whole in these hard economic times we live in.

When asked why she purchased the domain, Tonjes said: "Because we could. It was for sale and we could."

This quote says it all about how our country has degenerated. There really is no interest in intelligent debate or respecting the opinions of others. It's whatever it takes to get what "I" want and screw everyone else.

I'll spend the rest of the being thankful that this lady and her group of friends are not my neighbors.

It appears that Pickerington has some over zealous and disrespectful school levy supporters. Its OK to campaign but to remove or deface the other sides campaign signs is way over the line.

I'm with ya, family guy! If teachers are paid like the professionals that they are, families will perish! We must, as you say, PRESERVE our families. I too think that teachers and administrators should continue to engage in professional development, advanced degrees, put in overtime, etc. and do it for reduced wages. Their pay is cutting into my lawn care appropriation - ouch!

Amanda Tonjes is the face of the "yes" crowd.

She also pretty much admitted she had something to do with the signs disappearing.

This is the what people degenerate to when they get desperate. They won't engage you on the issue, they can't the facts are on our side.

My wife and I both voted "NO" this morning, and we did for our two kids in the district.

Well, you are apropriately named, and that is the attitude, the arrogance of teacher unions, that we deserve it, even though everyone else is hurting with pay cuts, hour cuts, benefit cuts. Look around you in your neighborhood, many of your neighbors are voting "no" today because they have seen their property taxes double in a short time and want some adults to make some adult decisions.

I agree with the individual who posted as Seriously. I wish the woman who purchased the domain did not live in my town-let alone be one of my neighbors. She makes all citizens of Pickerington look bad with her attitudes.

I will be voting "NO" on the levy. We are the silent majority who don't crave to see our name in print as Amanda Tonjes does. She probably just moved here and has no idea what has been going on with the financial mismanagement situation of this school system. Or she may be one of the many Pickerington City Schools tax payers who DOESN'T PAY their taxes after they vote for the levy.

I think it is sad that our schools and kids are the victims out of this entire situation. I believe in perserving the community and our homes. However, isn't part of that idea, investing into our homes and therefore making our community the best that it can be? By not investing into our homes and passing that onto the education of our kids, isn't that bringing down the value and quality of the area that we live? Again, it goes back to the right of free speech...I don't hear anyone mentioning the kids and what it will cost them.

So how much do these tea drinkers pay for this advertising on 10TV? Do you give as much free air time to all the other issues? Or does WBNS only give free air time to tea drinkers?

Kids need to learn at some point that all wants are only possible when they make the sacrifice. going to the public to get money is not consistantly possible.
I have given enough! No new taxes. The text books I learned from contain the same calculations in new materials. Make due with what you have. Go back to basics.

The fight is one sided. We didn't steal the signs.
We don't own those signs so no disclaimer is needed.
Vote For Pick Kids is a PEA tool.
They have tried dirty tricks and intimidation to
prevent the message from getting out.
They are the ones against free speech.
They are the ones that do not want to debate the issue.

There was only one cat in this cat fight.....Amanda Tonjes

I voted this morning and I voted 'no' to send a message to the PLSD. As a private sector employee, I pay 31% into my health benefits and the company matches my retirement contribution twofold. By the way, there is a mandatory minimum retirement contribution by each employee. We do get bonus pay 2x a year based on our performance review. Any increase in our base salary pay is determined by our employer and is usually a COLA increase (anywhere between 1% - 3%) and it isn't given each year. All this is to say that the teachers' pay structure is in sore need of revamping. There is absolutely no reason why they can't pay more into their health insurance plan (from 5% or 10% to 30%). I believe it's a similar story with pension plan contributions. By the way, this is the first year my child will be attending Pickerington schools after years of paying extra out of pocket for private school. This was our choice as it is our right. The school where my child went to cost about $5K per student as opposed to (almost) $10K per student at PLSD. While I believe PLSD is a good school district, and I want to keep PLSD great, I feel it can still be done without more taxes (and still keep sports and busing and not hold them as ransom).

Schools need to stop spending and cut out the fat in their districts.
Too much duplication and waste causes the budget issues.
Sports, clubs and activities need to be funded by fees, not the taxpayers.

Elections should be held only in November and in spring primary. Off time elections are costly and the only people who can continue to show up are the public employees who can get the time off.
How about theft/ trespassing on the signs? No respect.

Every kid has an iPhone, ipod, and an expensive car that most of us can't afford. Restaraunts are packed every time I drive down 256. Don't complain about not having any money bc you do. You just don't want to sacrifice any of your own personal toys for the good of the schools. This district is gonna go down the crapper real quick. just wait and see
