The KKK was founded by and made up of DEMOCRATS for over 100 years until it faded into obscurity.
The Civil Rights Act of 1964 was passed by more REPUBLICANS than Democrats.
I suggest you look at lower class white Democrats if you want to see real racism. Then take a look at the racist blacks who are hailed as "leaders"...foul specimens like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton.
As I previously pointed out, I doubt that narrative. People have lives, farms and children to tend to. It simply is not human nature to run around lynching people unless people are being pushed to the limit.

There are various letters back and forth between various Union Army officers and Gen. Grant during reconstruction that make me believe that I am on the right track here.

They were previously posted and one letter goes into great detail that the carpetbaggers were largely Jews from the North that took advantage of the southerners. That was the reason for the crackdown by the KKK. The letters also distinguish between the native Jews, which the KKK had no problem with, and the carpetbaggers in the north and talked about how the various restrictions were intended as sanctions against the carpetbaggers but not the natives.

I don't care what any revisionist history leftist pity party narrative says. This is just common sense and anybody with an ounce of common sense would have to admit that this rings more true than some caricature of southern whites running around lynching people just for the hell of it.

Yes but when Rock'n Rod dies eventually there will be another like him come along. I will give Rod credit unlike Russel Johnson and some others he was not afraid to speak opening even when there was not a pulpit to hide behind.
Yep, he deserves credit for that, but not for sucking money from people and jetting around on his own Gulfstream.

I have been stuck with rentals for a period of my life, so I do have some sense of what happens from the prostitution to the drug dealing. Yes, I have been offered sex in lieu of rent. No, I would never do that - not the way I was raised and the money is far more of an aphrodisiac to me ... That $500 is worth far more to me than any ten second orgasm.
I also understand the flip side of it, which is health problems (often caused by puffing themselves to death with cancer sticks) and a general low level of IQ.
Bottom line, and I still say this ... remember the people in life whose idea of having a great time was getting drunk?("Oh, I'm gonna get drunk tonight.") People like me don't drink because we don't want to harm our productivity the next day. What you people have created is an entire class of people who think that way and live their lives that way, with "sex" as their idea of a great time.
It's gluttony, really.
And it goes back again to the bible being very correct on what the best way is to lead your life.
Consumption of alcohol is not the sin, drunkeness is; as is over eating. Doing anything to harmful excess is committing the sin of gluttony.

I'm with you, Bob. I've never met, and never will, I'll chance, anyone who's life has been better because of alcohol or drugs.

As for this 'free choice' people like Reader thinks the government should provide women, haven't men and women both always had free choice? I sure have.

Just so you know where I'm coming from, I neither like the permissive nature championed by these progressives, nor do I like the punitive nature of the evangelicals.

I am sympathetic to the evangelicals, however, because with the stuff they are preaching they aspire to have an internal compass like mine. I don't know if that's possible in this country anymore unless you have a situation like mine where I set my own rules in my little world, and I have the ability to enforce them. I am the judge, jury and executioner.

Out in the real world, there is simply too much noise. I think to have this stuff come naturally to you, in a way that doesn't make you weird ... you almost have to live it like I do. It needs to be pounded in your head while you're young and reinforced by being in this kind of environment all the time.

You almost need the quiet, secluded and laid back pace of Europe or Asia ... or Colorado? to get away from the noise.

All I can do is tell my story and hope others can make the connection.

I was raised by a mother with one the bible in one hand and Emily Post in the other. My father was described by a business associate as "the most eithical man I ever knew."

That's a lot to aspire to. My parents were strict, but they let you make your mistakes and suffer the consequences and learn from them.

God gives you free will and a conscience. I have to live with the girl in the mirror before anyone else and I can't suffer the weight of quilt. I'm not perfect, but there was only one perfect man.

I don't have to remove myself from anything or anyone to live to the standards I've set for myself and been taught.

You lie, cheat, hold yourself above others, you lose. If not in this life, the next one, which is the only one that counts.

Maybe I'm too frank at times, but I appreciate that in other people. I do not suffer fools or phonies. Phonies are the worst!

I try not to judge. You're fine, Bob. Don't get too introspective.

VERY CREATIVE…EMPLOYEE NOTICE
**********
Due to the current financial situation caused by the slowdown in the economy, Congress has decided to implement a scheme to put workers of 50 years of age and above on early, mandatory retirement, thus creating jobs and reducing unemployment.

This scheme will be known as RAPE (Retire Aged People Early).

Persons selected to be RAPED can apply to Congress to be considered for the SHAFT program (Special Help After Forced Termination).

Persons who have been RAPED and SHAFTED will be reviewed under the SCREW program (System Covering Retired-Early Workers).

A person may be RAPED once, SHAFTED twice and SCREWED as many times as Congress deems appropriate.

Persons who have been RAPED could get AIDS (Additional Income for Dependents & Spouse) or HERPES (Half Earnings for Retired Personnel Early Severance).

Obviously persons who have AIDS or HERPES will not be SHAFTED or SCREWED any further by Congress.

Persons who are not RAPED and are staying on will receive as much SHIT (Special High Intensity Training) as possible. Congress has always prided themselves on the amount of SHIT they give our citizens.

Should you feel that you do not receive enough SHIT, please bring this to the attention of your Congressman, who has been trained to give you all the SHIT you can handle.

Sincerely,
The Committee for Economic Value of Individual Lives (E.V.I.L.)

PS - Due to recent budget cuts and the rising cost of electricity, gas and oil, as well as current market conditions, the Light at the End of the Tunnel has been turned off.

Liberals claim to want to give a hearing to other views, but then are shocked and offended to discover that there are other views.

Bruce Bartlett on Where the Right Went Wrong

Bill Moyers talks with conservative economist Bruce Bartlett, who wrote "the bible" for the Reagan Revolution, worked on domestic policy for the Reagan White House, and served as a top treasury official under the first President Bush. Now he's a heretic in the conservative circles where he once was a star. Bartlett argues that right-wing tax policies -- pushed in part by Grover Norquist and Tea Party activists -- are destroying the country's economic foundation.

As has secularism ... think back to The Waltons, which received universal praise and high viewership because it resonated with people. It was said that it was a fairly accurate depiction of a rural family making it during the Depression.
They didn't have much except God and the land they lived off of. The nuclear and extended family was together. John Boy wasn't smoking dope and Mary Ellen wasn't engaged in lesbian trysts.
They didn't have much, but they had each other. They were billionaires in my way of looking at things.
The underclass person of today, especially the poorest, have far more than The Waltons could ever dream of having, and they have been utterly destroyed because they don't have the family structure and the love and warmth that only comes from FAMILY.
That is the root of our looming national bankruptcy ... one part socialism and liberals' denial of the human behavior element that practically always makes socialism unsustainable ... two parts destruction of the family.
Millions destroyed ... financial bankruptcy on the horizion ... and the libs own it.
What is it with you and George living in fantasy tv land? George longs for the Cleavers and you for the Waltons. These were made up people, don't you get that?

To long for what never was is quite futile.

I've gone into great detail about why communism wasn't sustainable, from the notion of taking assets from those most capable to shepherd and nurture them, to the notion of people not wanting to do any more than required because 1) they didn't benefit from the extra effort and 2) they didn't want to be considered suckers.
But the most destructive element you unleashed was by throwing out God and that nobody had any right to tell you that you weren't allowed to give in to your temptations. Be it sex, drugs, gambling, adultery, homosexuality ... your definition of "freedom" was to encourage people to engage in behavior that has ultimately destroyed them.
Engaging in the kind of sex you shouldn't engage in is no different than becoming addicted to drugs. That's why after you lefties started patting people on the heads and told them whitey has no right to judge you, the wheels fell off of society.
Um, Bob, you'd have a point if all of those vices you listed came about in the 60's.

As usual you're way off base as each and every thing listed has been around since the beginning of man. Including the discarding of God from societies.

Try pinning your tail on a live donkey and not a 2 dimensional, stationary dream.
