I know it's only been 3 days, but having that 3rd lane over the river is awesome!

When do we get that 3rd lane eastbound?

They need to re-do the bridges and make 422 a "super highway". It takes me 1hr to get to KOP everyday.

422 sucks ass. Its a disgrace. In the past 10-20 years the burbs up 422 expanded which = more income tax which should have = 422 expansion.

Yes, so far 422 does suck. But, with the additional 3rd lane heading westbound, I'm saving 15 minutes off my commute home at night.

So there is progress. Isn't it the SOP of Montgomery County to build first, then worry about the roads?? Just look at what is happening every weekend in Oaks with that new convention center.

That road is a joke. It has been beyond congested every day for the last 10 years that I have lived here. It took over 1 year to add an additional lane, how long do you suppose it will take to make those "improvements"? Keep building shopping centers along the corridor and it will be total grid-lock one day. And that Oaks mess, that's a whole other story.

It really should be 3 lanes each way from Royersford ---> EAST, and then 4 lanes from Oaks ---> EAST (they shouldn't have to merge).

I never really hear of that much congestion going westbound after this Betzwood area. But adding lanes West bound couldn't hurt.

Half that is done? If you read through it, they already completed over half of that. That 3rd lane is perminent according to that drawing...

The third lane, permanent or not doesn't matter, as there will eventually be another bridge span to take all westbound traffic. It will eventually be 4 lanes each direction.

Why is it now that the new westbound turn lane is open at Trooper, traffic backs up from Trooper westbound all the way to Timbuk 2? I thought that this was to alleviate congestion not move it down the road a bit!

Get ready to pay a toll to sit in all that traffic.

I'd gladly pay a tool if it meant I could get from Trooper to KoP in 5 minutes at 8:30am. Ha!

You must know that adding another lane is not the solution to traffic problems. Adding another lane will only result in that many more cars filling up the lanes. The only solution to traffic problems is zoning restrictions and open space preservation restrictions.

Dino - You may not like the development of all the rural land in the area, but your comment is way off base. Making each direction 4 lanes will immediately alleviate the traffic issues. Wanting to preserve land is fine and good, but just making things up is not the way to go about that goal.
