So what is the deal with the Collegeville Inn? I moved here 2 years ago, and I've never seen it open for business -- except I think it had a sign out there about an Easter Brunch last Easter or something.

I'm confused by what exactly this place does, and when it is open. Anyone know?

Jenn, they have closed to the public with exception for some holidays. We had not been there in years but decided one day to take a ride out (about an hour drive). That was when we found out they were no longer open to the public. Several others were there also and wondering when they closed. I guess they was no formal announcement. In any case friends from that area called us in March to tell us they were offering a buffet on Easter Sunday. So we took them with us but were very disappointed. First and foremost they automatically added a 12% tip to the bill(paid as you entered.I know this is done when you book a group of 10 or more in most places. But for a party of 4 adults and 1 child I felt unnecessary. And the food was very dissapointing. Many of the buffet stations were closed and none of us enjoyed the food. Needless to say we will not return. I understand it's been taken over by a few different owners so I guess they do not believe in quality food. Just my opinion. I just cehcked their web site and found the following:
It states "restaurant & Banquet facilty." Yet when you click on the "click here to enter" link and then on that page " click here for buffet and restaurant menus" it states "The Collegeville Inn has closed the buffet restaurant." Just another mystery.

They have tried to sell, then tried an auction, but no takers. I think they are losing money and would like to unload the property. It's owned by an institutional food service company.

The owner, Joseph V. Roberts, is the most ethically bankrupt individual living in the area...He operates Nutrition Management Svcs company along with an underqualified and very rough looking woman named Kate. The place represents his lack of knowlege and ability to succesfully run a business...his main bread and butter, NMSC, will follow suit...too bad he cant sell collegeville Inn because the moron sank millions into a building that is in a flood zone and already experienced the wrath...moron.

It's too bad. It is just sitting there, adding no value to the community.

As a "dream" scenario, knock down the Collegeville Inn and move the Perkiomen Inn there. Then we could widen or add onto the bridge into Collegeville.

It's just a dream.

Yes, dream on. The problem with part of that dream is that the bridge is historic so they can't touch it. I think the same may go for the PB hotel too.

That's why I want to move the hotel either across Route 29 or to replace the Inn. Then you would have room to build another bridge.

One bridge would be westbound and one would be eastbound.

If they moved the King of Prussia Inn, they can move the hotel also.

Ah didn't think about the "2nd bridge" idea.
Dare to dream.

Speaking of Joseph V. Roberts, this guy is unlike anyone I have ever met. Aside from being a complete moron he is ethically a true and tried Bastard. He hires people for NMSC, has them move across the country and paints them a picture of how great it is going to be working for him. Then after a few months we found out how bad a shape his company was in and that not even God could turn it around, he let's us go and here we are, in a new town and state with a freshly signed lease on a home looking for a new job. The thing of it is he thinks there is nothing wrong with doing this to people. Karma is a bitch.

It's sad how things change over the years. My Mom met my Super Step-Father (my Dad) while both were working at the Collegeville Inn. My mom was the Hostess there for many years and my Dad was the Bar Manager. They worked for Art & Sylvia Hahn, the owners at the time. I spent many a day there fishing under the bridge and have some very special memories of the place. In the summer, Mrs. Hahn had me and my sisters at their home picking strawberries. A few years later my Mom was recruited to work on the other side of the bridge at the Perkiomen Bridge Hotel.

Such a shame. We were the first wedding there after the huge reopening in 1998. The event was beautiful and had wonderful areas for photos and entertaining. We loved it. Such a shame it's gone downhill in 14 years. :-(

So sad
We took a drive often, from South Jersey, to visit the area and have dinner on Sundays
Must have been on the 1960's!
My parents are both gone now
So is the inn. Long gone

Joe Roberts andb Kate Hill Over weight lovers, liars, thieves who misrepresent working for Nutrition Management Services Cheat their clients by siphoning off rebates paid for by clients. They have no organization. Visit their offices without notice and you will see what they are all about. Roberts lost Collegeville Inn. If you hire NMSC audit them annually then fire them. Have NMSC submit a list of all accounts lost in the past 5 years.NMSC has a 600% turnover rate in their management personnel. Don't believe anything FAT JOE or KATE tell you they went private because their stock had a NEGATIVE BALANCE.
