I live down the street for the place, I never find myself worrying about it. You get used to seeing it, the funny thing is when people from out of the area drive by it, they almost run off the road twisting their necks.( I had one person stop and ask me if it ever " smelled" I replied the only thing I can smell is the refer in your car,.. what a kook) I too am also realistic when it come to the " what if " happens, lets all be real here we are trapped like rats in a cage, there would be utter chaos to say the least, imagine how many people would be fighting with each other in the grid lock on the roads. they wouldn't know where to go or what to do. Everyone with in the first 3 miles would become
" collateral damage". I'm not griping or whining just stating a fact & I CHOOSE TO LIVE WITH THIS, IF ITS AN ISSUE & YOUR DEWLLING ON IT THE ONLY LOGICAL ANSWER IS TO MOVE OUT OF THE AREA.
its that simple. To be quite honest I would be more worried about someone crashing a plane into the containment building...
I also agree with AROD ( on this one anyway) the other large & long term problem is the spent fuel,
where to put it, its half life & so on....

@Arod you are right, the is no plan on what to do with the waste. The Anti everything activists have shut down every plan to do something...not in my neighborhood, not on my road, not in my county, what if a truck transporting waste was struck on a train crossing then a 747 crashed into the mess. Yes you are more likeley to be hit by a one legged rhino with spots, BUT if it did happen, there would be lots of dead people.

Good job activists! Now we keep it on site, barely protected, and likey to cause a problem at some point becase power plants are bult to generate power, not store waste!

Hopefully it won't melt down, the evacuation plan has us going to Neshaminy Mall, and that place is a shithole.

Colon,
what about the thousands of other people trying to do the same? I think there's like 1.5 million people in upper providence alone.......... well it seems that way as bad as the traffic is

It's not safe. The site is loaded with radioactive rods and sits right next to the river and right next to a quarry. Not to mention they routinely vent gas.

I think we should shut all of them down just like Germany did. Sooner and later something going to happen to it.

We need to act now for ourself and our kids

Yeah and we should get rid of all cars and use horse and buggys.

Maybe while you're at it...get rid of cigarettes and booze. Think of all the lives it will save. LOL!!!!!!!!!!

As it is now, the nuclean power plant operators are allowed to store the spent waste 30 years AFTER the plant closes, at the actual site of the closed plant, because....THE PUBLIC WON'T LET IT BE TAKEN OFF SITE! It is the people that think that they are protecting everybody that are brewing the next MAJOR disaster. They oppose ANY plan to get it off site, so it sits there waiting to cause a disaster. Then they will say see it told you it was dangerous, when it was THEM that would not allow it to be taken away.

But they do release radioactive water into the Schukyll river nearby in which we drink from. They are allowed to do this under the national guidelines, that is unbelievable. An industry should never be able to discharge harmful waste into rivers. If you look into it more there have been hundreds of leaks, cooling system collapses, and illegal coverups of water discharges into drinking water. Indian Point, NY. National laboratory on long island, obviously three mile island. lots of cancers and cover ups to boot. you can't trust the government when they get huge checks from lobbyists from nuclear lobbies. the regulatory commission had its budget sliced. They have not ever voted to close a plant and there have been some spectacular screw ups.
