Considering it passes all inspections...

Your question is like saying, you had a fuel line leak in your car, and you repaired it. Is it safe?

Personally, I'm more worried about my neighbor and the bonfire he has setup in his driveway firepit than Limerick.

Its perfectly safe..i work at nuclear power plants all over the world. Limerick is one of the better plants in the country. You will not find plants doing experimental testing like the one that caused the chernobyl incident ever again. The NRC has very strict rules and force the power plants to abide by these rules or they will shut them down and take their keys.

We're all going to die one way or the other. I think it'd be kinda nice to be glowing in the dark when it happens.

I mean, OH NOES EVERYONE PANIC!!1! A NOOCYOOLERR plant halfway across the world lost power because of an earthquake and then lost its backup systems because of the ensuing tsunami! JUST LIKE WHAT HAPPENS HERE ALL THE TIME!!! RUN AND PANIC!!

WAKE UP SHEEPLE!

Seriously, the plant in Limerick is a hell of a lot more safe and throws off a lot less radiation than the coal plant in Chester (and by a lot less, I mean none). No reason to carry on the fear machine. You're all more likely to die in a car wreck on 422 than the plant having a meltdown.

You are missing the big picture. Of course the odds are greater getting into a car accident and dieing on Rt 422, than a meltdown at Limerick. But the bad effects of each are what is important. IF a meltdown occurs, more than a few people will die.
I don't worry too much about a meltdown, I worry about the nuclear waste byproducts and the fact that the Feds have no plans on where they will be storing all the spent nuclear waste. As it is now, the nuclean power plant operators are allowed to store the spent waste 30 years AFTER the plant closes, at the actual site of the closed plant, because the Feds don't have a plan right now about where to put it. THAT is CRAZY!
