I did figure this out. You forgot to mention that Outback, Bonefish Grill, Carrabas do not use ANY prepared foods or microwave in bags..lets tell the whole story before beating up the chains...

Always seek local restaurants as your first priority. If you are at an intersection with an Olive Garden and Leo Vasacci's Italian restaurant, you go to Leos.

Hey Mr. Paul Muschick, you need to do better research on your stories before you print them. First of all let me explain why Texas Roadhouse is honoring Steak and Ale gift cards. Bill Dech is the former general manager of Steak and Ale, I couldnt tell you how long he was there, but about ten years. , maybe longer. He's a smart guy, see he's accepting them because of the loyal customers that went there for so many years and he knew so many of them. Also what better way to bring in new customers to his own restaurant. Steak and Ale had nothing to do with it, it was Bills choice and a pretty wise choice at that. So, seriously there should be no shame on Steak and Ale for not telling anyone, when they have nothing to do with it.

For Misanthropic 1, The Steak and Ale had a good run for 3 decades. It would still be open if the parent company didn't go under.

Exactly. I had to humor some folks a while back and they would go to Olive Garden and Fridays. I started just getting a salad or an appetizer to be polite. I like to find restaurants that are not chains and give family-run establishments my business. Lately though,I have preferred to cook my own food so that I know it is fresh premium ingredients.

Hurricane Ike made me appreciate great food when the stores didn't have anything but canned food. Yuck. Doing without will bring you down off your high horse.

The food at Applebees IS pre-portioned in plastic bags, but the ingredients and cooking is all scratch. Go to Wegman's, buy a club pack chicken breast (pre-portioned in a little sealed package), hit the produce and dairy for the sides, and you get what they are doing. Not too bad, but the recipes a for mass production mass appeal, mass produced sauce, so things are a little too sweet, a little too salty, and little to ho hum.
