This is the rumor going around town. This horrible establishment is finally coming to a close. I have heard nothing but bad things about how that place has been run and the service that people had there. They also owe a few local businesses some big money!(As well as some other creditors I'm sure)

That is really sad for Philipsburg, but the owner are not nice people. Its a nice to have the history of the Philips in town. The food is not very good and the service is no better.

I have eaten there on numerous occasions. The owners have both been very personable and the food is second to none. These posters are typical locals celebrating the demise of anyone trying to do something good for the community.

I think their hearts were in the right places and they tried to get this up and running but not enough volume. They sacrificed their careers to try and make this work.

They've burned many many bridges. They started out well, but the way they treat employees is unprofessional. They are too far into it now and won't get out.

Try to mask trash Faith which you are and a true BITCH in every sense of the word.
That's what made me stop patronizing her business.
sad, because it is gorgeous in there. Maybe a more personable/pleasant owner would do the trick.
come out and meet and chat with your patrons instead of snubbing your nose at them..
If this so called rumor is truth~ take a look in the mirror long and hard.

So she's a bitch. It's Philipsburg. Everyone has a chip on their shoulder around here. She's originally from Hawk Run and didn't have a pot to piss in. She may be a bitch but she's come a long way.
She and her Husband did burn bridges and didn't make good decisions. Again, she was trying to make something nice for the community and I still think no matter what, she tried to do the right thing for Philipsburg. She secured a lot of money and a grant to get it going. She pretty much put her career on hold to get this done. I don't think she ever planned to get rich from the Philips.

Sad to hear this place closed but not at all surprised. Stayed there twice. First time the accommodations were mixed up and not a lot was done to correct this. Breakfasts were excellent. Second time dinners were superb and breakfasts were of poor quality with horrendous service. We came back to our room after being gone all day to find that our refrigerator had been removed and the items in it placed on the floor. One elevator reeked of vomit although we were assured that wasn't the issue. Our room was not cleaned and wastebaskets were left filled to the top. The location was fantastic; in the middle of town allowing us to walk around. It's a shame that this historic gem is once again abandoned. It could be successful if someone with some money and the right background in the industry were to revive it. I'd love to see that happen.

The hotel has such potential however there simply was not enough money or experience to back up the plan. It is unfortunate to see the personal slams against the owners. Philipsburg has been one step from poverty for as long as I can remember and at least these people tried to revive an important landmark. What would be nice is if a new owner could be attracted and the refurbishing be continued. We would stay there when we come to town and I'm certain the PSU football crowd would as well. Ever since the Harbor went down the toilet Philipsburg has needed something to attract overnight visitors. A place for weddings, graduations and a nice dinner out should be an attractive addition to this town.
