I recieved a ticket from MHP for doing "80" he said 3 times. Yet he wrote for "85".Also did NOT have a MHP badge on, but arm patches visible. I was very polite and explained the company vehicles are not all correct with speedometer. I was not aware of this discrepancy and was honest with the trooper. Company has verified this vehicle is incorrect in speedometer and is willing to dispute the ticket and help me defend.

NOW... the Trooper had NOT turned in this ticket and it's been 1 month. Court is Next Tuesday...
Question #1 - When must he turn in this ticket..

Question #2 - How can he get away with not wearing a badge? I had to ask who he was with. Also his cruiser did NOT have MHP markings on side... but grill lights instead.
Question #3 - Does MHP badge lettering coincide with the Troop they are located at & can they write a ticket out of their district? EX- F-10 (Troop F)

This happened in Lee County (Troop F Dist). He had B class Badge in a F Troop District

***UPDATE - Trooper turned this ticket in yesterday(2-22-12)- 32 DAYS after the date of violation. 3 business days before court.
Can any Trooper or Officer tell me why he can wait so long - WHAT HAPPENED TO DUE PROCESS OF OUR JUSTICE SYSTEM.

Everyone Beware of Lee County Ms. law enforcement. They think they are above the law. Maybe that's why 2 Sheriffs have been murdered there. in the last 20 years.

A Trooper can write a ticket in any county in the state of Mississippi regardless of what Troop he is stationed in.

The law states to move over to the next lane if safe to do. If not, you are to proceed with caution in ur lane. I recently received a ticket because I was on a two lane road: one going in each direction and was not able to pull over or stop because of traffic. The officer said I should have stopped even if an accident was possible. Guess he wanted the extra paperwork.

I know some troopers and they said that when they were in patrol school that they were told that they could speed but to make sure that they were going so fast that no one could get their tag number and turn them in. Hmmmm

That's right, 20 weeks of pain for a lifetime of pride! I'm a Mississippi State Trooper and I can tell you a lot of times the reason we don't run lights and siren is because of driver's that freak out and don't know what to do when they see an emergency vehicle. More times than a few, drivers simply stop in the middle of the road when they see those blue lights coming. If you don't believe me, ride with a Trooper, you'll see! It's a lot easier getting where you have to go without running your lights if you can help it.
Windows are blacked out because law enforcement vehicles are exempt from the tint law. It also provides us with a little bit of cover in case we are targeted by some individual that might want to cause us harm. Believe it or not, we have to wear a bullet proof vest to work everyday, because their are people out there would love to kill one of us. So while you guys are sitting back in your office chairs, complaining about how Troopers drive or that you got stopped and ticketed for driving fast, we'll be out there keeping YOUR highways safe from drunks, reckless drivers and drug runners. So feel free to criticize us as much as you want, we will still be out there, day in and day out, serving the public. By the way, I work Hwy 25, maybe I'll see you out there one day.
boy please i have to worked in law enforcement in some of yall are assholes not saying that thats you but it is your peers... 20 weeks of hell thats what you decided to do for a living but as far as im concern go sit down on your higher than high horse and kick rocks because yall use your authority to get over on ppl and scare ppl but if one of them catch you out of your uniform you get scared like the rest of us then when that does happen you want to lock ppl up for disrespecting you but if you had of never provoked them shit wouldnt pop off and the only reason why youre in law enforcement is because you couldnt get a better job and you are incompetent thats the label officers have and nine times out of ten its right

Im from Milwaukee, Wi and every time Im in Carthage I recieve a bogus speeding ticket from Carthage's finest and the same cop 3 times. I do the speed limit because im not from there so I have to keep it slow so I know where to make turns because im unfamiliar. I guess havin the front license plate makes me a target. Im down there twice a year and still cant catch break. These cops have nothing else better to do but drive around, write tickets and act tough. Its all an act so ppl will respect them. Its not working...

U still didn't answer the question, azzhoe... Probably because u can't. There's no defense for cops speeding when there's no emergency. That is only one of the many reasons you're despised by the public!

To the parasite "state trooper": You don't make things safe as far as I can see. You shake down hard working folks with real jobs to keep the state coffers full. But while we're on the subject; if speeding is such a danger, why do you people do it all the time (when there is no emergency or situation to respond to)? It's that kind of arrogance and double standard that makes people who work for a living despise you (myself included). Your inflated sense of ego and importance offends me. However, I'm glad you posted your comment. I was considering taking Hwy 25 to southwest MS. You convinced me to take an alternate route. THANKS!

This is what bothers me on hwy 25 I have seen the state trooper be unfair I watched him one night a boy was driving probably 16yrs old and an obvious old boy mid 20's kept getting on his rear and then passing him and slowing down he did this several times the young driver got around a big truck amd the state trooper pulled them both over and only ticketed the young child was laughing and high fiving the older boy. Also I got pulled over for 77 in 65 told the officer my daughter got hurt and was home alone he could follow me if he would like just wanted to make sure she was ok he said no it wasnt his problem he gave me a tciket and said next time slow down amd call 911. Wow really that was pretty inhuman. .. a mother only thinks in that moment about getting to the child not only that not everyone can afford to just call an ambulance some of us work hard have no I surance and cant live off the system. I have more respect for officers that remember they are human and I cant stand thw arrogant ones but it will ce back to them.
