This company is stealing from its customers, and if I knew I would have been so limited on cable/net. I would have moved to columbus.
Will, I enjoy your shameless plugs
Well, I would like to say I enjoy all this endless whining from you and your other fake names, "Kayley", but it gets boresome after a spell.

Will, I enjoy your shameless plugs, but unless you pay 125 a month for basic cable, and basic Internet with this company. Just be a good troll and post your "awesome" links, and hush.
thanks for the info

CTVEA needs competition. The old man that owns this company needs to go ahead and die so he is off the council board and east alabama can finally get charter or mediacom.

From what I have heard from the other side, none of these companies seem to want to bother with Phenix City.

This is the worst cable company I ever had to deal with. I've had Dish, Comcast and Charter. I completely understand that EVERY cable company has it's flaws but CTVEA is just to much to handle. I moved to Smiths Station about a year ago. When I found out they ONLY offered one cable company, I was thinking it must be that good. WRONG! The cable price is about the same as other company's but it sucks. I don't get a box if I just have basic? What? Some fake on demand when I do get a box. What? The internet is soooo slow. What happen to unlimited stuff? Charter and Comcast I paid 120 for unlimited internet, HBO and the highest cable package you can have. I'm paying about 110 for slow net, 10gb a month and a package up from basic cable. Just talked to a higher up at Charter and they are trying to come in this month. Yeah buddy! Bye bye East Alabama cable, you will flop once Charter enters! Now let's move on to the people. Ohmigod! If you're looking for rude southern people just give them a call. The customer service people have no clue what they're doing. I called to see if I could get another week to pay my bill and the one women said nope, I called back and the other women said yes that's fine. What? Now I understand you have to pay your bill but Comcast and Charter will work with you and give you an extra week. Moving on to my next part. When I first got this cable a guy came out to hook it up. He was RUDE. He barely spoke, made me hook up the back rooms and left before I could ask questions. Umh what? RUDE! About two months into my stay my internet stopped walking. I called it took almost a week to get someone out here. I was also told there would be a charge if it was not tech related to why my net was not working. They told me it's because my TV's are old and my computer is old. What? Never heard of this. Well guess what? Finally after the third visit they figured out it was on their end. yeah no kidding! So once Charter enters this area, I'm switching to a more mature professional company. Small town monopoly playing is for children.

Has Charter announced plans to actually enter the area?

After all these decades, the question is really why nobody has ever even tried to enter the Phenix City Cable market.

Not sure exactly what they're are planning on doing but they're working on something this much.

I'm sure all cable companies have tried to enter this area but have been turn down. I don't know what the obsession is what keeping such a horrible company like Cable of Alabama but people have some growing up to do in this hideous town.

Charter ain't coming here. They would have to get a franchise from the county and that ain't gonna happen. Even if they could, do you really be
I eve they will invest fifty to a hundred ,million in equipment? Ain't happening. Look for WOW to buy out CTVEA in the near future. Now that might happen.

Kaylee, your location is listed as "Ellenwood Georgia", so how can you be a customer of an Alabama cable TV company living way out there, where ever that is?

One of the reasons charter or no other CABLE company would come to phenix city, is that CTVEA owns the cable lines buried deep in the ground. There is no existing line infrastructure for Charter to license and provide access to its customers. That's why they will never come. CTVEA owns the infrastructure, so they decide who uses them. The city plays its part by allowing CTVEA to continue its stronghold, and only allowing DSL (AT&T). This sucks because DSL hubs can only house so many connections before quality is an issue, so they have to refuse new customers a lot of times. This leaves residents to only be left with the option of CTVEA.

It still astonishes me what kind of city is Phenix City in which it doesn't care about something so important to the future generations.

The county commission grants franchises for utilities, not the city. Blame them, not the city council.

That's the key, there... Charter, Knology and the rest are not willing to make the investments in Phenix City.

Maybe the money they pay Will Dockery to sick up for their company, they could put in to their company for better service.

No, I'm not paid to say this, just speaking the truth as I see it in this matter.
