Residents in the area of Seale Road and 10th Avenue in Phenix City say they're shocked to see a building with so many memories in the community go up in flames. "It went up in flames and you couldn't see anything but dark smoke," says Phenix City area resident, Bertha Diggs.

Why is this burned building being reported by the media as only housed the former head start program? It also housed the historical South Girard Elementary and then South Girard Middle School before the Head Start program moved into the building. I am sure the Phenix City School System has the records of this historical school that occupied the building .
