Why are our rates soooo high? For 6K gallons a month I now pay $130. Just a few months ago the same 6K gallons cost much less. Soon my bill will be $200 a month and there are only four of us living here. I am considering moving due to the ridicules high cost of water.

Southwest Water Co. is just as bad and their customer service is one of the worst I have ever experienced. I too am considering moving out of pflugerville to escape this utility company.

My wife and I are enduring the same problems with windermere utilities, we had even had plumbers to come put and check our house because the water bill is ridiculously high and I guess we know why now. We just currently moved here a couple months ago from Round Rock and we never paid a water bill that high, thanks for the posting.

My water has is sometimes cloudy and now has smelled like chlorine for the past week. As far as the costs goes it is unbelievable how much it costs a month. Online I found a list of how much Windermere pays the city of Austin for the water and Windermere pays $7.33 per 1000 gallons the average price that Austin sells 1000 gallons to other cities is $3.20. The next highest is Manville Water Supply Corp. at $3.65 per 1000 gallons. HALF THE PRICE!

My windermere utility bill is always sooo high. There are just 2 of us living here and to pay 80.00 a month for water and sewage is way too much. That's just the basic, then if we go over the basic, it's hard to pay the bill.

I have looked at many sites and not come across such a site as yours that tells everyone everything they need to know. I have added you to my bookmarks, can anyone else suggest other related topics that I can search for to find out more information?

The water price is really ridiculeously high. I had to pay $ 101 for using 4K gallons.
I suggested that we need to get people to sign so we get rid off this company.
Worse my dishwasher and other equipments became bad due to much calc on the water.
We need to find out why the city does not do anything about this high price high jacking system.
Interesting why the HOA never do anything on this matter.

Windermere is just stealing us. Me and my wife pay $ 115/month
I even try to use the bathroom at work so that I do not use it at home. Think a second, I do not want to use bathroom of my own house!!!!!!!!due to high price.
We are being scammed by a bad company with terrible customer service

Windermere has a stranglehold on our area. We took them to court a couple of years ago because their rates got to high. The reason the city wont do anything about this is because they dont own the lines the water runs through. The City of Pflugerville has no interest in our section of the city... hence the lack of attention we get.
Face it... this is the way it is. It's all legal.

I do think we need to bring windermere again in the court. This is our money that is being stolen. We had to continue to inform the people about this.
Fraud has to be stopped wherever and whenever it is.

In 4 years we may see ourselves paying $250 or $300

Windermere Water Supply is owned by SouthWest Water Company, Windermere supplies water, sewage collection and treatment services to our recently annexed Windemere area. Water is pumped out of the Edwards Aquifer. But in September 2007, Windermere also began buying Lake Pflugerville water. So as Pflugerville citizens, we don't pay the lower water rates other Pflugerville citizens do, even though we are buying the same water.

Windermere charges base rates that a person would pay if they do not use the service. There is no reason seeing that the communities are established. In other areas a base rate would include an amount of usage, for example a $25 base rate which include the first 2,000 gallons. These rates do not. With enough people complaining, there has to be recourse that we could take collectively to put a stop to this. When your water is higher that electric bill, something is definitely wrong with that picture. The people of Pflugerville are ripped off every month that we pay these exorbitant prices. When I called Southwest, a representative said that TCEQ approves the contracts that includes these rates. So the answer must start with who is making these contracts and why is this goagency allowing for citizens to be a victim of profiteering and price gouging. We, collectively as citizens should protest. Where to start is and how are the questions?

Just to follow up, Southwest water has a contract with the state of Texas. TCEQ knows when that contract expires, but contract negotiations could be conducted with transparency since it is a public contract and affects many. Write or call TCEQ to insist on being apart or notified of negotiations and demand that rates are lowered consistent with other surrounding communities. Stand up and be heard; the more who acts and injects themselves into the process, the more effective and the chances of change increases.

Can someone please post the contact information for TCEQ? These water rates are outrageous . Something needs to be done, our water has gone from 20 a month in Round Rock to 100 with SW Water Co.

Personally i think there is something wrong with their calculation. I took my family on a two weeks cruise and when I received my bill for the same period that we were, gone the bill were higher that the previous month. I like somebody explain that one to me.

Just got my first bill here, for a partial month. We are getting charged 59 dollars for 6 days of service. 6 days!

This is absolutely outrageous, they are charging us the full base rate of 30.15 for sewer for 6 days.

Cannot wrap my head around how insane the water cost is.

Please let take actions seriously and soon.
One thing, everybody needs to know if that, even if you do not use water, you will still have to pay at least $ 60 just for the service. That is a serious scam.
I am not sure what TCEQ can do or willing to do( i really do not know the guys).
But we can start writing letters of complaint to tPflugerville City Manager's Office or whoever is in charge.
