Pa. doctor denies molesting boys while in Scouts

The attorney for a western Pennsylvania physician says his client was "blindsided" by allegations he molested two boys while he was a Boy Scout leader in the early 1990s and "vehemently" denies the charges.

Isn't it something that Butler County Children and Youths main Doctor for Child abuse case is now busted for sexual abuse. Looks like CYS has been biten in the ass with this one. What goes around comes around. I guess they won't be leading the good Dr in what to say this time around.

This DR. has testified in child molestation cases himself. This is alarming! I sure hope this guy is innocent of the accusations!

This is an alarming situation,especially since I have a young grandson in Scouting in this area. However,we must remember that one is innocent until proven guilty.Dr. Evanko has always had an excellent reputation and been well liked in the community. Very,very sad.

I find it sad that we live in a society driven, at times, by lawsuits, and at others by that Jerry Springer mindset, to the point that we don't know what to believe.

Are the slates truly being cleared of molesters who were able to operate for years by threatening their victims or by the driving under the cloak of the shame their victims felt? Or are the Salem Witch Trials being re-written and re-released with a whole new cast?

Either way, the whole situation is sad all around, with no real winners readily apparent. Both sides have examples readily available.

This is total BS. Dr. Evanko has 2 sons AND had helped one of my close friends years ago when he had problems. I think people are just trying to get what they can out of him.

I believe in Dr. Evanko's innocence. I believe some people are just adding more B.S. to the whole thing.
No winners in this case. What a shame!!! Usually when someone is accused of these crimes and they are found guilty, it adds up. But in Dr. Evanko's case, 1 and 1 do not equal 2. There are 2 alleged victims, brothers of course and a built in witness; after 20 plus years. my common sense says that this sounds like a Stephen King movie. Attention getting but completely false and it makes money too.

I believe Dr. Evanko is innocent. Most cases I have read about sound believable and have substantial evidence. 2 brothers and a built in witness sound like a made-up full proof story. The real kicker is 20 plus years after Dr. Evanko gained wealth and has been in the newspapers for ALL of his successes, these guys say the scout leader they once knew did all these things and they even have a built in witness or did they really say "CHA-CHING".

The best part about your comments Lee are they are just that-comments. You don't know what goes on behind closed doors or what may have gone on in the past. I don't know Dr.E but the judge and jury will make the appropriate decisions based on the evidence given.

If Dr. Evanko is found innocent I believe the accusers should face prison. If in fact he is innocent, what these guys plotted is in fact against the law. NO ONE should ASSUME what Dr. Evanko MIGHT have done. Where is the proof? 2 guys that are in the same family and a ready made witness. Wasn't there a movie script like that once? I hope every single doctor, boy in scouts and neighbor are subpeoned to the hearing as a character witness; all people knowing the accused and also knowing the accusers as well as that witness after 20 years. Backgrounds on all parties sounds like that would be fair. After all if these guys were boy scouts they must have an excellent character background right? If Dr. Evanko is offered a lie detector test and takes it, the accused should and of course that boy scout of a witness should take it too. Right? This seems fair and not favoring anyone. And of course the guilty party or parties should face the same sentence, fair right?

What is it about the "Boy Scouts" anyway ? I have two young boys and I would like to have them experience all the valuable lessons and knowledge but it seems that it is a huge risk. We are better off to steer clear of the shadow that has plagued the organization again and again.
