County looking for other ways to have back-up generator inspected

There are 1 comment on the Caledonia Argus story from Dec 22, 2011, titled County looking for other ways to have back-up generator inspected. In it, Caledonia Argus reports that:

Should it really costs $540 per month to have the massive diesel generator that is situated on the northeast corner of the Houston County Court Square inspected? The large generator, which would provide backup electrical service to the Houston County Court House and Justice Center during a power outage, must be tested on a monthly basis.

Most places that have generators also have maintenance people on staff that also service their generators. I am sure the maintenance personel for the court house could be trained to perform monthly inspections at no added cost to the taxpayer. I am sure that their is some one who currently works for the county that can perform these inspections and test.
