The other day I was parked in Petersburg and someone put a flyer under my windshield. Before I could get it off a rain storm occured and needless to say ,I had a mess. Not only did it mess up my windshield but also the side window of my car. The paper had to be strached off the window and side of the car. Who gives permission to place these flyers on vehicles.Placing a flyer on a vehicle requires the individual to pull the wipers back and attach the unsoliciated materials. I looked around the parking lot and most people just took the flyer off of the window and threw it on the ground. Who would be responsible if a wiper blade was broken or the vehicle strached. I personally don't want anyone touching my car under any circumstances. This practice shoud be illigal! Why can't people just keep their hands to themselves.

I think that it is a great idea and if you had a business you would try all ways to advertise, even putting them on car windows!!

stop the restriction of free speech. Stop the nanny state. Theyve already have enough ridiculous laws in place. visit infowars.com to learn more about the nanny state new world order agenda.

Hey im sure they didnt mean to do that at all. Of course that does suck horribly that it messed up your car, but their intentions were just to promote their business to get more customers. If you went to their shop, im sure they would have done something. But there is no need to ban it. It was just to show sales, and didnt think it would screw your car up, just a freak of nature happened is all. Im sure you would do that if you just started your business too.

Well, you just try it and you might wind up on a stretcher heading to the hospital. it is illegal to touch someones private property...period. And you are liable for any damages, scratches to the vehicles paint, etc you cause. You can also be sued by the owner of the parking lot (again, its private property) for any costs involved in cleaning up the litter you have caused. MOST PEOPLE WILL *NEVER* PATRONIZE A PLACE THAT PUTS TRASH ON THEIR WINDSHIELD ANYWAY.

Is it illegal to post a flyer on a telephone pole or other city property ?? I feel that no one should touch another persons car. There are some very sophisticated cars now that touching the windshield wiper would trigger the alarm. Next question: Who should be responsible for cleaning up the litter? Unfortunately, I am guilty of throwing these flyers on the ground in disguise of someone continually bothering me. I could be ticketed for littering and have to clean up parking lots on Saturday Mornings with the rest of those convicted people. I for one am registered with'Do Not Call' and have a 'No Solicitation ' sign posted on my front door. Most people ignore it, especially those sweet little old ladies from that local church off of Wagner. I just feel that people should be left alone. Not angry, just want my stuff respected.

At my school someone parked in my reserved spot (which i paid for). I wrote them a note and placed it under their windshield wiper, telling them not to take my spot again. Can I get in trouble for touching their private property?

I think that you probably had a righ to ask the driver of the vehicle not tyo park in your spot. Glad that the driver didn't return and break your windshield wipers. People are sometimes very mean!!!

Ive thought about calling the numbers on the flyers before and tell them never touch my car again. I find it a very annoying pratice and will not spend a penny at a place that does this. There has to be a reason they dont have customers and have to go this far

I absolutely agree. Your car is private property. The other day, I parked my car at the mall. It's a brand new car. I worked very hard for it, and my car isn't cheap. This car is a status symbol. It's America. I'm entitled to enjoy my car because I worked for it. In fact, I parked my car on the far edge of the parking lot, in an isolated space. I didn't want to park in the too close for comfort door crunching section. I couldn't believe my eyes when I came out of the mall. Despite being isolated for 50 yards in every direction, I had a flyer tucked under the windshield of my car. They must have gone that extra mile just to make a point - other than advertising. This isn't about free speech. If it was, I would be able to put political campaign adds on people's windshields - starting with " Ten Reasons Why You Shouldn't Vote For Barack Obama ". Now, I know that some of you don't want to hear that because it angers you. Imagine how angry people get when they find a flyer on their windshield which promotes some junk that they don't want to buy. If businesses want to advertise, there are plenty of other ways to do it!
